Castle to max than spam lvel 35 tower until you get a good level 40 tenth stratum matchup.
You should be doing tenth stratum as early as level 30 or as late as level 35 whenever you have good enough coloar advantage.
For healers specifically, spam 1 stamina training tower with a low level unit with weapon de equipped, kill all but 1 enemy unit than spam heal until no exp before rinse and repeat.
Your healer should be hitting 40 before any other unit if following above

Arena AI immediately chases the unit that is easiest to kill if no one is in their range.
Once literally anyone steps into their range, the AI runs over to fight regardless of its Def/Res and Atk.
If multiple units are in the AI's range, it'll take the path of least resistance where it fights units that deal the least damage and take the most damage.
Melee units prioritize moving as far as possible to attack unless it gets in the way of letting another AI unit do something.
Ranged/Support AI stays in the back lines unless it tries to attack, heal, use a skill, etc.
AI dancers will do their job if doing so will allow an AI unit to attack. They will otherwise act like a melee unit that prioritizes staying in the back.
I still don't know when the AI would break down walls nor can I see myself walking into an unwinnable situation because I'm such a shitter.

I'm not unfamiliar to the genre, I just always found the fanbase to be a little too autistic which kept me away from it. A friend told me about this game and I like opening packs, so the free rerolling got me interested. Now the stamina wall has got me interested in playing an actual FE game.

Fates just looks worse overall because they removed content, didn't release all dlc and there's too many typos and mistakes for a professional job as opposed to awakening. As far as script accuracy goes though they aren't that different. If anything awakening is slightly worse cause it had less characters and content but it still changed a lot of it and upped the comedy to 11.
