Level 1-4: owning with mostly starter skellige with Olgierd. People playing different factions.
Hit level 5: Get absolutely raped by weather monsters. 9 out of 10 opponents play weather monsters.

I guess I will join the cancer but I just wish there were more viable budget decks.

Depends how early it is in the match. If they dump it in round one, maybe ride it out in case they have that new gold res card. Round two or three, nuke the bitch.

It is pretty funny to see people who dump her out as their opening move though. I always pass then, Yen is wasted, and then you can towel them up in the next two rounds because they don't know what to do after their brilliant plan to get you to waste half your drawn cards failed.

Assire is actually pretty decent in some matchups. Mainly against decks that use revive strategies. Against Skellige you can put the buffed Axeman or Priestress back into the deck, against NR cards that can be hard to deal with if revived by Shani. Against Scoiatael for spells, so Aglais can't get them. Against monsters she is a bit of a dead card, but you can shuffle bigger units back in just to fuck with their draw.

While it is working quite well I'm having trouble figuring out how the Griffin card fits into the deck, it seems useless as caretaker resurrects from the enemy graveyard not your own. Am I missing something or should I replace it? Also general thoughts on this deck?

Okay, I fucking tried to make him work but the only thing constantly on my mind when I play him is "I wish I had Dagon instead".
When's literally worse than commander's horn: the leader getting a buff?

My honest biggest problem with the game is the rarity distribution, and how gold cards, despite being borderline mandatory, can only be Epic or Legendary rarity. Silvers can only be Rare or above.

As it stands right now, counting cards with multiple artworks as only one card, there are:
63 Commons
64 Rares
Fucking 104 Epics
51 Legendaries

This is flat bonkers to me. How does it make sense for there to be more Rares and Epics than Commons? Why are there so many Epics compared to any other rarity?

To put it in perspective, Hearthstone released with 378 total cards; 32 were Legendaries. Gwent right now has 282 cards, and 51 are Legendary. The game is way too top heavy; they really should change the rarities on some of these cards. I don't see why cards like fucking Grave Hag need to be that high.

Griffin is used to mess with decks that rely on the graveyard, you take out units that could be revived by medics in NR and SK or special cards that could be reused by ST.
It's nice but you don't really need it in a weather deck, you can change it to another ancient foglet if you don't find it uselul.

i just lost a match because i could use it only on one of my units - I had a siege tower and a siege expert on board, zero copies in hand, the game didn't want to let me use the reinforce on the tower, in the third round i had a similar situaton but with a ballista, medic and siege expert and again I could only chose the siege expert

Do you guys think it's still possible to reach a high rank before the wipe happens? I play gwent since four days, currently sitting on rank 4 grinding through cancerous monster weather decks. Yeah, gaining ranks is pretty fast, but my win rate against monster weather is pretty bad. Every other faction I can beat most of the time, but monster weather is just too annoying (especially since they all run Dagon and Ragh Nar Roog). It really fucks with my NR buff deck. Fucking this, Monster weather has been my barrier to the higher ranks for the last few days.

Can't beat it with Skellige, can't beat it with Nilfgaard, it's just White Frost + Skellige Storm + Dagon + Woodland Spirit so I can never keep them from summoning the horde of Foglets they've created, and locking Foglets/Nekker Warriors doesn't stop anything and they've started using Mardrome on a couple of the Foglets so you can't Geralt: Igni to get rid of all of them after they're buffed with 1-2 Swallow potions since it will only get the first two.

I'd rather have to play against fucking PFI constantly than play against Weather Monster half the time.

Yeah I'm tempted to scrap my Skellige deck (got every non-premium gold except Kambi, every silver except Jutta now due to saving up 2000 ore for Nilfgaard patch) but I still can't build something that works well enough for me to consistently win or even just win 60% of the time against Weather Monster.

How would you change the keg system? Right now it's pretty bad, almost never getting good cards out of kegs. The drop rates for the good stuff are so low that kegs are often simply milling material. Some suggested a pity timer but I think Gwent could orient itself a bit on Magic:Duels. In Duels you draw 6 cards per booster. 3 are common, 2 uncommon and one is a guaranteed rare or mythic rare.

For Gwent the formula could look like this:

6 cards per keg
4 of those are bronze
The 5th card is a guaranteed silver
And the 6th is either a Silver or a Gold card (25% chance of getting gold).

Drawback is that the 6th card can't be chosen anymore. I think this system would be much more player friendly. What do you think?

He's really difficult to use. First you need to get card advantage by round 3 (make sure that on round 3 you are the one playing the last card), then, when the opponent has only one card remaining, you play Cahir. Your opponent will be forced to play his last card, you play your last card, your opponent passes, and then on your turn you can use your leader again.

It requires an insane amount of setup honestly and only works if you get CA to begin with. I also wouldn't run him unless you're running Morvran, cause it seems that's the best NG leader ability right now.

I laughed my ass off the first time I saw Cahir used, I blanketed the field in weather effects to buff the shit out of my Ancient Foglets and Sara, then AR'ed them. The guy had a deck built around card reveal buffing units but nothing helps when you keep resetting units to 1 strength.

It's the most acessible deck type since it requires the fewest rare cards and can get you wins even against highly built decks.

New players need to spend an insane amount of money or have an insane amount of luck with kegs to do better.

Cow catapult is such a cool card from design standpoint.

Anyone else feels that because you only ever naturally draw around half your cards deck-thinning cards are way too valuable and basically mandatory if you want to make a good deck?

Like whenever I look at the gold and silver cards trying to think of fun combos I realize that it doesn't even matter because unless half my bronze cards thin themselves out of my deck I can't play anything consistently.

I literally can't go higher than rank 4 with my deck. Win rate is 50% so I'm stuck with weather monsters forever. I just wanna play against someone else for a change. Is Foltest viable in higher ranks?

1st turn: Impenetrable Fog -> 3xFoglet
2nd turn: 3x Wild Hunt Rider

Play against NR:
1st turn: Reaver Hunter
2nd turn: 3x Temerian Foot soldier

You can literally predict the first turns of just about every deck. The need for deck thinning greatly limits creativity.
