I really want to know the answer to this. Either Ouma already knew what Miu was up to and his plan to stop her turned lethal, or he found out about her plan when he was already reeling about the outside world and her betrayal may have helped push him over the edge.

Keep in mind all the avatars were the same strength, and that all dangerous objects were removed from the VR world. What exactly could Ouma have Gonta use to knock her out or render her unconscious? If they're all the same strength, how could Gonta restrain her before she's able to forcibly log him out (and he won't remember this because of his wiring fuck up to know she's a culprit) and kill Ouma?

There are other ways Ouma could've approached this, but subduing Miu when she had that much control over the game without killing her would have been extremely difficult and risky.

I assumed that Ouma chose to betray Gonta because Ouma seems to like to cooperate with people that are willing. Continuing with the plan when Gonta was hit with amnesia would have been against Ouma's codes, and if we assume he remotely cared about Gonta at least a bit he probably didn't want him to survive and live with the guilt of having all of his friends dead for reasons he doesn't even remember. That'd have been pretty awful.

Consent for this kind of thing seems like a pretty big deal for Ouma, since he did the same with Kaito in chapter 5.

It's hard to tell because Ouma's very good at keeping a constant mask of mental stability (until he needs to look insane) without revealing his inner emotions, making it hard to pinpoint when the truth revelation happened for him based on behavior alone.

I think it happened first- I may be wrong, but I think Ouma snuck into the VR room the night before they actually went into it to see what she had done. He had seen the "truth" a few nights before. Clearly, Ouma knew of Miu's plan before he talked to Monokuma about putting the flashlight in the game to know that he'd need it in the first place, which means that he already knew the truth of the world at that point.

So it goes like this

Ouma knew he was utterly fucked and he'd likely not be able to do anything, so it's lucky that his death and Kaito's execution resulted in Kiibo's antenna being broken.

Ouma is pretty much a tragedy in the making, every single plan he made to try and stop a murder (See: Gathering motive videos) didn't work, people didn't think harder about what he meant by lines like how Kaede lost the moment she tried to kill, he ended up having to compromise his no-kill policy when Miu abruptly decided to betray him and even after dying painfully the sole benefit from his last plan was from Kiibo's antenna being broken and that wasn't done on purpose.

It's pure black comedy, much like how Amami said he'd end the game and he got what he wanted only after almost everyone else died including himself, and that was purely by the accident of Kaede being framed.

It's been commonly accepted that TDR is poisoning Kaito somehow to give him the appearance of space AIDS and slowly kill him for drama.

Wouldn't it be more effective and less risky (aka you don't have to rely on him eating/drinking/taking pills/what have you to get the poison in him consistently) to just straight up infect him with an incredibly deadly disease or infection?
