You're exaggerating the fight load times, but it is a pain that the attack animations can't be skipped (although the REALLY long special ones can be) Especially towards the end where your sessions get really fucking long.

I see little to no way that the battle system is somehow worse than P4.
The combat itself is harder and I find myself actually using more than one party for the entire game, unlike P4. I'm comparing them both on Hard mode.

My comparison here is strictly between P4 and TMS. Obviously a lot of things come down to personal preference though.

You're not too far off here, but once again just because P4's aren't great doesn't make them comparable to the uninspired garbage #FE has, which they aren't. #FE's designs are pure unfiltered drivel.

I'm really not. They are that long, and you're given the same shitty static image to look at for every single one of them.

I pirated #FE and regret playing it. It's one of the worst games I've played in years, and I cannot fathom how on earth you can see anything of value in it, even putting personal preferences like characters and music aside, there is nothing of value to take away from the game, and not a minute of it was ever "fun".

We'll have to agree to disagree on the cast/plot/music. Maybe I'm biased on the cast because I don't think I've ever loathed a character as much as Yosuke.

How exactly does P4 do side-content better in any significant way? Almost every request in that game is also a "slay things until you get these drops" or "go talk to x" quest. I'm not saying it isn't better (Requests in TMS are fucking garbage) but not by a huge margin.

There's also little difference in the gameplay chunks you're given for the main story. In P4 you get a 10~ floor dungeon that, most of the time, only differs from the last one due to cosmetic/enemy changes. There's probably a mid boss or two before the boss. You can bash it all out in one day and then have a month of in-game time to dick about.

When you get a new plot dungeon in TMS, it has an entirely different set layout. It'll have its own puzzles and unique mechanics to explore.
There's also a mid boss or two before the boss. Before you fight the boss, a character (usually fucking Tsubasa) will unlock a new and unique passive skill. When you beat the boss you get to move on with the game or wait in the intermission. It's up to you if you want to do that side-stuff. At least the big side-stuff unlocks unique abilities for characters as opposed to P4s "x will now die for you" on everyone.

The load times for fights are 5 seconds of staring at that shitty screen. Yeah it's still shit but you're still exaggerating.

huh? now, i wouldn't say goro exactly trusted phantom. if he did, he would've told him everything and asked him for some real help. he wouldn't have shot him and tried to kill him. it wouldn't take a two-phased boss fight to make him finally set his pride aside and realize he can trust the protag/phantom thieves.

goro confided in joker about his mother and his past, sure, but he's all around written as someone who is starved for love and affection to the point of even wanting shido's praise and approval. it's not that strange to think the moment he feels some sense of connection with a person (and yes, using the wild card aspect to support the existence of that feeling, especially with a character like goro who in the end has a different ambition altogether, makes way more sense to me than just "he's a fag for him just because it's MC")
