Yeah that was the impression I picked up of it. I feel you with the odd streak of movies. I picked up a very long documentary on the Holocaust from the library. I saw some of the interviews on youtube and thought I'd see the rest, but now I think it actually depressed me a lot in my sleep. Still have hours left to go though. :/

Yeah, its a good little setup, but admittedly overkill. As it happens the mic stand is probably a bit of an antique, and I've had it since I was a kid for some reason. My parents met working in TV news so I've had a few items like this over the years. The mic itself though is pretty new and cost maybe ~$30, and hooked through an audio interface to the PC it works great. As far as how much I actually use it, its not as much as I would like; rarely because of working at home reasons, and more often during gaming or dictation. My voice is horrible anyway so...
