A bunch of top 200 challenger NA profiles I pulled. Very low games on nidalee aside from the first one i think who's an outlier. maybe he had a specific reason for nidalee? dunno. but either way every challenger jungle main plays nidalee the least if at all. My problem with her is that I'm often playing against bot lanes that can play safe while also dealing insane damage (mage supports and ADC's with tons of poke/utility) . With an intense need to fit in a lot of different utility these days (lifesteal, cleanse, last whisper bonus arpen) I notice from watching most high level adc players that they rarely, if ever, get to cap their crit.

You definitely can't forgo lifesteal.

Here's a sample caitlyn build. Notice how he has to cram lifesteal, IE, attackspeed, and last whisper plus boots into six item slots. This is what you should expect out of a typical adc build, give or take mercs instead of bt, et cetera.

Please don't ever gimp yourself by building BoTRK. Watch any high level ADC being asked their question and they'll say almost exactly what I said.

I'm really fucking pissed that a dumb silver shitter would tell you otherwise. It goes to show how risky taking advice is from this general, honestly.

Jhin, Varus, MF are all ADCs that easily abuse lethality. Order of items is generally Youmuu (movespeed/chasing) > Edge of Night (burst or CC protection) > Duskblade (stacking Lethal and Nightstalker damage passive). Rest of the build is an lifesteal item, Dominik/Reminder, these kinds of stuff.

There's a few outliers like Caitlyn and Lucian that can build lethality but they are other cases.

Videogames are just so, so awful. Of all the popular entertainment mediums I could have come to enjoy, I had to choose the one that actively enrages me. When you read a book, you can flip to any page and the contents of that book will be the same. When you watch a movie, you can skip to any time and the scene will be the same. When you play a videogame, you can start any level, and you're guaranteed to have your character not grip onto a fucking ledge, or randomly cancel their reloading animation, or have your framerate plummet for seemingly no reason. Hell, the program might just CTD, or your computer bluescreen entirely. Why? Because fuck you, I will do whatever the fuck I want, because I am big ol' box of circuits and cunts.

I'm so glad i'm not working tonight. On-hit or Crit, yes. Lethality does not scale as well with auto attack carries like Yi. Crit is the best 6 item build, but on-hit has a much better midgame so you can 1v5 a lot sooner.

Yeah, that's generally the build I go for, but wasn't sure about BT/the other "defensive/lifesteal" item since I've been told to get Maw/Banshee's if I'm against high-burst AP damage like Veigar or Le Blanc.

You can definitely put a crit item in the build, but since you're already stacking Lethal, what's the point? It's used purely as a dueling stat, and since it's strong, why not do it? As for DPS, it remains almost the same, since you're ignoring resistances.

Jhin can build RFC or IE. Varus can build IE, although i've seen people building Manamune/PD on him instead of IE. Caitlyn follows the same path, the damage on her ult and trap crits are insane.

Twitch shined with Ghostblade when it gave AS, so he could surprise and burst people easily. He should build with the same path like the others, but you'll only start feeling strong at Duskblade.

that's true, but when crit is just meh without IE and if you only have IE your crit is too low to be reliable. Meanwhile lethality as a stat scales up with itself in addition to the bonus from duskblade.

Crit is better if you can get IE and a zeal item, but lethality gives you a bigger power spike early and in the long run is probably just as effective against squishies while the tanks who take more damage from a crit build would just take too long to auto down regardless (the biggest powerspike against a late game tank is your last whisper item anyways).

Sorry, i should've explained better, crit is not built on lethality builds because they already have built-in "crits". Jhin's 4th shot, MF's Q on a dying minion, Caitlyn's traps and E. Building crit would only be a ease of burden. Lethality also scales pretty well with other items and as a stat. Lethality gives you more fighting power against everyone.

Every ADC looking to build lethality goes Ghostblade > EoN > Duskblade.
