i have a 60 hz monitor. anything less than solid 78 fps is not enjoyable for me, maybe just because im used to it, this was the quake 1 competitive "standard". anything beyond 125 fps and i don't feel a difference so even though i get 300 fps solid i cap at 125. visually there is no difference since 60 hz can only output 60 fps, however the change is in controls especially mouse input, feels more smooth even if it could just be a placebo i don't know. 144hz i would go 144 fps no matter what if i could help it

i know its a meme but every time i get killed 'too fast' by a sniper i think they are botting. i am paranoid and i apologize if i have ever wrongly accused one of you. i want to know if there is a sure fire way to reliably tell if i am encountering a cheater. i know there are groups of people specific with the goal of tricking people into thinking they are legitimate. i know many high level players have very suspicious headshots. i don't know any tools i have to actually view these players from their perspective. i record demos of every match, but will i be able to view from their perspective? is it even possible to spectate anymore? this game needs killcams

The obviously cheating sniper is most easily discovered by a combination of two things. First: A godlike reaction time. Somebody cheating hard to shoot other snipers won't have allowed their cheat to spend some time on a target before selecting a shot. If you poke your head out and the sniper wasn't already aiming at that spot and you die, it's suspicous. The second thing is being able to shoot cloaked spies regardless of cloak state. To his cheat the cloak might as well not even have been activated, so he'll destroy a cloaked spy.

Things that make it less likely the guy you're fighting is cheating:
1. Bodyshots. If you're getting nearly instantly shot but it's a bodyshot its very likely that the person targeting you isn't hacking, just because it could have been a headshot and killed you dead already. Sydney sleeper cannot headshot crit, so that doesn't apply.
2. Misses. Unless the target has been set on fire or shot just as the shot was taking place its very unlikely a cheater will miss you. If in the middle of a headshotting killing spree he straight misses it's more likely that he's just really good instead of just trying to pass for a normal player.

if you shoot the medic for 150 dmg on the 1/66th of a second where he regenerates health you wont kill him. ive seen it happen one or two times.

Just getting into TF2 and want to play with a friend who's got a netbook (1.6ghz CPU, 1GB RAM).

>Comanglia's config (mat_specular 1 since mat_trilinear 0)
>headsfeet and particles mods installed

The mods didn't seem to make a diff and then I found out Valve servers are using a sv_pure 1 so I tried some community servers with sv_pure 0 (and fewer players, coincidentally). Noticed a diff but the game's still a jerky mess.

Does this game no longer run okay on low-end PCs even with mods or is there something I'm missing?

Then he airblasted your rocket without you even noticing. Reflect smoke effect sometimes don't even render at close combat yet you ate a 145 dmg minicrit already. Try to attack the ground infront of him for splash damage and juggle him, if you can hit the very edge of the reach of airblast you'll damage him once succeed switch to Shotgun or try an airshot.
ps. he may have an autoreflect script. Hard to detect them
