It's probably the new recoil system for SMGs. They have like no recoil compared to how they were before, even without attachments.

And, if the spread graphs are even slightly correct, all the straight grip does is reduce the _vertical_ recoil of a gun, unlike the muzzle attachments, which change both the upwards AND sideways pull of a gun. So if you can handle a particular gun with a straight grip, you can adjust to it pretty easily even without a straight grip. Just have to exaggerate your normal compensation movement a bit.

This is a damned lie. Like there's been and can be other bad matchmakers, but Siege is a game where newer (Not even 'new') players will frequently have entire rounds where nobody on their team gets a single kill and they won't know how or why they're getting killed by dudes 200+ levels over them, that's not a common thing in these kinds of games and it's not really a good thing either. You can learn from losing in this like in plenty of other games, but after a certain threshold of ass-stomping you flat out just don't know what to do against some of these guys and that's neither fun or a learning experience. I've played this shit from day 1 to now, I put my time in and it never feels any better being in a team of high level dudes against brand new people on a free weekend, there's no satisfaction for anyone involved really other than faggots who can't cut it against people on even footing.

look, canada did used to use sterlings, but that was a while ago, most of them were probably replaced with newer shit and are in reserve, but that doesn't mean the canadian armed forces don't have them.

the reason why the sterling is with frost is because it fits the "theme" of jtf2, this theme is that they are unreliant on electronics. frosts welcome mat is not electronic like kapkans, and bucks shotgun can double as a breaching tool and weapon. so it wouldn't be surprising that frost would use the sterling as it's fairly reliable from what i've heard. (however this is from what i've heard so it could be wrong)

The thing is the Sterling was never in widespread use among actual soldiers. They would typically be issued to people who need a gun but otherwise wouldn't be able to have one since FAL's are fuckhuge.

Hell even that photo is a Sigops (or whatever they were called in the era) dude, who really would never need a rifle, so being given something small and manageable is preferable to hauling around a massive weapon you don't need 99.99% of the time.

Even in the US, they pretty much created the M4 first and foremost to provide full sized rifle power in a more compact package, since vehicle and tank crews and really anyone in those sorts of roles makes using an M16 fucking impossible and they wanted to get away from submachine guns. Units that otherwise are almost exclusively fielding M16's, like the Marine Corps, still have M4's on hand to give for those roles.

Basically: if you giving them a rifle isn't feasible, and a pistol isn't good enough, you had the Sterling.

The C1 has basically become 100% defunct and immediately fucked off from use. Even when the CF switched over to the C7 the FAL was being used forever. Old reserves of the Lee Enfield are still being used this day in the Arctic... But the Sterling hasn't seen the light of day in decades since it's 100% useless and not compatible with modern warfare.
