Did you turn automatic reload off, and cross-hair off and laser-sight on then play on Veteran with co-op?
Co-op actually makes the game more exciting since the AI can't fail QTE or die but human can.

The story was well written in and of itself, and if you've studied film you'd notice the cutscenes are well directed, as scenes are cut to provide maximum effect.

It's a matter of perspective, you probably expected survival-horror whereas I didn't (since I don't like horror).
Like I said it's more of a action game closer to DMC than CoD. You can duck and roll to avoid swings (necessary on higher difficulty because they do a lot of damage), stun to melee finish and have to think whether you want to discard ammo so you have enough room to mix herbs.

Upping the difficulty makes you have to change you strategy.
On Vetern and higher it's much harder to shoot your way through since they take more damage (also deal more damage) and you can still only hold a limited amount of ammunition, so if don't take shots carefully you will constantly run out of ammo.
You will have to learn what weapon goes in what situation against what enemy and how best to avoid damage, since you won't have enough herbs to keep healing with their higher damage, through ducking and rolling etcetera.

They completely different. Oreshika is a more traditional turn based JRPG with a focus on raising childs that will be part of your party. Persona 4 is an average turn based JRPG with terrible writing but somewhat interesting story and a MC with Kirito levels of Mary Sue.

Go for Oreshika if you want gameplay and feudal japanese style, go with Persona 4 if you want a japanese highschool RPG where 80% of the time is a VN-esque dialogue.
Oh and Adachi is the killer.

It's a neat game. For some reason I had initially bad impression from the very first demo of the game and never bothered it with until it was on sale 11 days ago or so. Played the demo and liked it very much. The thing that changed between the first demo and that date, was that I had played Freedom Wars and God Eater 2 RB, so now I actually had knowledge how to play it. And fucking hell do I like the characters in the game. They really make the game better for me.

I've noticed characters losing an eye from this multiple times, but most recently I've seen it while playing Yomawari and Toukiden:Kiwami which both borrow a lot from Japanese myth and folklore.

Just curious if they are referring to something specific. Also, if anyone has any books they would suggest related to myth and folklore I'd love that too.

later difficulties can get rough and you need to beat the final boss on all 4 of them for a trophy. Also all the non DLC forms need to hit level 99 for a trophy
