I mean playing the game again has really gotten me kind of appreciative towards it. I think it's pretty cool they have all this great story and writing. I love the idea behind the secret societies, how you phone in missions and can just interact with things in the world to get more missions. I love that the game designers designed the maps so you can kind of go in a big circle and complete all the missions efficiently if you're grinding. I like how the money is called Pax Romana; obviously implying the secret societies have been using the currency of the Roman empire because they've been around for thousands and thousands of years. How great.

But then my problem comes in; why the FUCK do I already have Tier level 6 for my weapons/trinkets at Blue Mountain? I thought Egypt and Transylvania were further leveling zones. Seems kind of fast to be getting gear at that rate.

They streamlined leveling to where you only need to do your class quests and the main planet quest. Basically only the quests with a purple Icon. So it's super quick and easy now as long as you are subbed.

Well then my two cents;

Best games for combat are probably TERA and B&S. Why? They run down the checklist for me:

>Fun and interesting abilities
>Good visual and audio feedback
>Combat that's more dynamic than a simple rotation (with procs and stuff)
>Fast paced

Conversely the two worst combat systems for me are XIV and Rift, precisely because they lean too hard to one side and forego the other. That is XIV has excellent skill feedback but combat can feel slow with uninteresting abilities. RIFT has some nice fast combat, interesting abilities, but absolutely nonexistent feedback with lame builder/spender rotations.

Part of the fun of D2 was builds. Finding the right build with the right items to complete an objective. You could also fuck it all up completely, as some people who went full number of skeletons could tell you.

D3 completely lacks that because there are no builds, just whatever skills you happen to be using at the time. Plus, it's nature revolves around doing the same easy and generic task over and over (like an mmo) to farm stuff. There's no real challenge to the game outside the bullshit challenges like greater rifts.

I played WoW during the Vanilla days (guild broke up after wiping on C'thun for months) and the only reason people rolled horde was for instant pvp queues since Paladins were broken as fuck for raiding back then while Shaman were decent at best. That + Druids having to be Cows were the nail in the coffin as far as healers went.
The imbalance was something like 1 horde : 5-10 alliance on most servers.

That said the gameplay is kind of wank, B&S combat is far more tight and polished. But in trade it has actual crafting and not that facebook garbage. And an open world that isn't 90% invisible walls. Not just in dungeons but overworld content since it's a +50% burst damage window. Check which of your utility skills interrupt (or remove interrupt armor) and take what you can.

In Conan Exiles, you can literally drag your dick along the ground, boobs will jiggle when you do anything that involves movement, and you can pretty much be "Bottomless" with a loincloth.

The original guild wars. There were so many fucking builds that were viable thanks to the dual class system + literally hundreds of available skills.

My main was a ranger and I could run shit like spirit summoner, necro touch ranger, pet assassin, and run a bunch of weird ass farming builds that allowed you to quickly solo areas meant for 8 people.
