There are two main rules to go by when playing a job:
1. Don't fuck literally everything up
2. Perform or provide whatever you are responsible for
If you are able to meet these two things, congrats, you are already better than most players.

Not fucking everything up doesn't mean you can't screw up ever. Accidentally plasmaflooding a single room using a canister? No biggie. Singuloosing? That's a problem. Just make sure you know how to deal with sensitive things like that, and you should be more than good.

The official test server is kind of shit. Any player can spawn any item or machine, but not mob. Power is not pre-set up. Random events happen.
It works and nobody will care (well, very much, at least) if you blow it up, but if you really want full control, run your own personal server.

Goliaths are resistant to brute damage and you can't melee them without being a diona or in 6-hide plated rigsuit and helmet and even then it only takes a lucky hid to cause lethal bleeds. That way, if you get stunned, you're far enough away that you'll recover before it reaches you. botany has also access to bucklers vs stunsticks. novaflowers dont have a holding sprite and dont make a sound so they are really silent and stealthy. high potency blue tomatoes spliced with polyacid are pretty efficient killers. it might not be the most powerful way of being robust, but its a really fun one imo

You have to valid hunt on lowpop. If the heads / security (all 2 of them) get taken out then the antags just get to go around and kill everyone with no resistance. Doctors can make chloral, cargo and science can get guns, and engineering has easy access to scrub gloves, everyone needs to be able to defend themselves from the asshole that wants to make all of the sprites turn 90 degrees.
