KB+M is really not that bad, it's perfectly playable. As for balance, I think aside from a few tweaks it's actually pretty good. Every class can be viable if you know it well enough, even if people complain about "Won't work against anyone good". Maybe conq needs a slight light attack buff since he's so slow, but thats about it.
Game has only been available for 3 fucking days, and people kept complaining about Warlord being completely useless, suddenly the next day everyone is foaming at the mouth how OP and bullshit Warlord and all his moves are. Problem with KB-M is that you don't know if you went to the proper side of the block or not. On controller you always know that you block the direction in which you hold the stick, on Mouse in the middle of a battle you can't see if garbage detection decided to put you in upper or sideway block, and it's even worse on characters with temporary block since renewing the block is a pain in the ass.

Vanguard classes have no right to be this fun. Especially Warden and Kensei

I have very good internet, so I'd say about 90% of my matches were absolutely buttery smooth. The Netcode is very good.

The problem is that p2p is fine when you're playing against people in the same region (East Coast - East Coast, West Coast - West Coast and so on and so forth), but the instant you run into someone with shitty internet or the population declines and it has to expand the search range, it's gonna get ugly fast.

I lost a duel earlier today because I fought some Brazilian Warden who literally *teleports behind u* *throws you off cliff* 3 rounds in a row.

Before that I played against a peacekeeper who was from South America and they kept teleporting around the map, none of my attacks would connect, and I kept getting randomly guard broken out of nowhere.

It's a mixed bag but that bag is full of options for the assassin trying to bait a response.

When the Conq is rolling the flay, he's charging an heavy attack. In the process he's slowed and slowly losing stamina
He CAN block in that stance aswell so walking up to him and charging a heavy strike was the worst shit to do, because he's gonna parry you and heavy you for free anyway

The shield bash+heavy is counterable by both dodge and fast strike

Usually the key to beating conq is patience, just do quick jab of guardbreak/fast attacks and retreat, you'll wear him down

It was hard to get into my head, but the best thing you can do in this game is not panic. I lost a shit ton the first two alphas because I'd panic when low on HP or when out of stamina

But if you just keep a cool head, comebacks are pretty easy in this game. Especially because opponents get thirsty when you're low.

I know this isn't groundbreaking thinking, it's mostly just to remind myself.

Warden's Zone Attack is insanely fast with good reach and decent damage.
Raider's Zone Attack is unblockable and does bonus damage at the end of a combo.
Kensei's Zone Attack has armor so you can tank through an enemy swing with it and hit them in their recovery.

I don't really know if any non-Vanguard ones are good though.

Shields were not used by people decked out in full plate. That's what full plate is, your entire body encased in shield, so you use two-handed weapons to exploit this.
Mind you, this would usually be a poleaxe or something, not a sword. But you can use a two-handed sword as a makeshift hammer in a pinch by grabbing the blade, or as a short spear to hit between gaps (of which there were very few for late medieval plate).
