Honestly my worst fight, my usual openings weren't there with such a slow weapon and I got caught on the corpse when he called down lightning but god damn that augur parry got me pumped.

Kos Parasite is also fun as fuck but I hate going full squidward for the enhanced moveset. Ruins fashion, unless anyone has a good clothing mixture for it?

Also how do you guys keep entertained after gem farming? This character is gonna be my overlevelled PvE character but after the chalice slog and running dungeons for near perfect gems I don't have a ton of motivation to keep going.

And also chalice glyphs where you can join dungeons other people created (without spending any materials) which makes getting gems and loot much easier. Base STR and SKL are enough if you don't plan on using untricked mode.
SKL is near useless if it's not 50 and only ever do that for the Blowblade or maybe the Reiter and Rifle Spear.
You can bring STR to 28 to use the Church Cannon and some damage on untricked Bloodletter.

40Blt on a Blt build remders it near useless. you would have to be a fuckong moron or brand new to PvP if you thought <48Blt is viable.
I just suggested the Vit over Arc because most of the Blt weapons take a chunk of your health with them, thus rendering your health effectively around 30-35Vit for the fight if you have 40 Vit. Bowblade doesnt suffer this, but still it's in good practice as the second weapon you use will most likely have health drain/damage

However we also know that later on in this timeline Rom was elevated by Kos, when Kos gave her eyes on the inside and made her the Vacuous Spider she is when we find her.
But even more so, Kos must have been alive (or at least unfound) before the burning of Old Yharnam and the creation of the Nightmare of Mensis, as Micolash presumes that Kos is alive, or at least unaware of her corpse being found. We know that OY was burnt down at a relatively recent point in the timeline and Micolash is at a point in which the church was well established, and much longer after the inquisition of the Hamlet, so at what fucking point does Kos actually decide to die?

Use fire paper, saw spear and parry him. That boss is great for initially learning how to parry correctly. What weapon you using anyway?

Yes, but in both cases the chime maidens are loud and obvious to kill, which silences the bell. Generally once you get past the 'designated PvP area' you will be out of most peoples ranges.

I'm pretty sure this is the way you're supposed to do it, because sprinting sideways makes you sprint-jump when you try to dodge and that doesn't give you iframes (plus you cannot sprint fast enough unless she is far away). And dodging while locked on to her head puts you right in the path of her tentacles

Alright so I have a thought about this but obviously theres not much information to go off of so I also kind of am trying to think of it in terms of the culture its from.
There's this history in Japan of whales beaching being seen as a sign from the gods that prosperity will come to their town because along with the beached whale comes all sorts of other animals trying to eat it, and the whale itself gives meat and bones and all kinds of shit they want. My guess is that Kos beaches and dies slowly on the shore and becomes similarly a worshiped corpse, benefiting the hamlet. The Kos parasites then start to infect the poor hamlet in a similar fashion to Yharnam with the beasts, they begin turning to fish dudes. Bygenwerth is established at this point but Laurence has not left or has just left, because I think if Laurence had seen the fish plague he would not have been so gun-ho about the old blood. I think that Wilhem and Gherman seeing this corpse and this hamlet makes them more aware of afraid of the scourge of the beast.
Obviously Burgerworth then proceeds to do more "academic research" and fuck the hamlet up more, but I think Kos's parasites/slugs we find everywhere are what turned the population into fishies.

Oh I didn't mean to imply Gherman was afraid of Kos's corpse but rather fearful of the effect it had on the hamlet, leading him to establish more hunters. Maybe he was a part of BurgerCollege? It seems like a stretch.
I mean I think that Kos may be the first Great One encountered, and so I think it happened early in the Churches history or lead to Laurence leaving the college to establish the church. I say this because of all the Great Ones mentioned in the game Mother Kos seems to be the most heavily referenced, to the point that as you pointed out it inspires the ritual that Mensis conducts and in my opinion try to recreate it with The One Reborn.
The only other Great One I can think of with as much reference and adoration is Oedon, who obviously has an entire Chapel created in his name and many people related to the church have his runes in their mind, dweller, adella, iosefka, and gascoine daughter (he obviously is tied to the graves of Oeden in some way). I can't speak to if Kos or Oeden is more significant or known about sooner than the other, just a tangent this thought lead me on. Oeden is really interested though because they built a Chapel to a being that can not be seen or heard, or maybe no matter what we lack the insight to see him, but he has a strong influence on the game none the less.

is there any feasible way to use the burial blade or the amygdalan arm on a 25 STR / 50 ARC build? You can't convert the damage and the arcane is too weak for nourishings, so it seems like you would need the 50 STR or 50 SKL because you'd just wanna use temperings and heavy abyssals

Who else here thinks bloodborne is the best game ever made? It's surprising to me since I hate 99% of modern games. I was lucky though, bloodborne was my first ever souls game for some reason, ds3 is probably my second fav but I recently got to play ds1 and demon souls and they were obviously great games, but pretty disappointing. The bosses were way too easy and I was expecting them to be insane, especially ds1 anyway.
