Open up your party finder, click the raid or trial icons, and tell me what roles are 90% of the open spots.

I'll give you a hint- it's not tanks, and it's sure as hell not healers.

Despite the roulettes still being somewhat tank starved, structured content is lousy with tanks and healers, especially since you need twice as many DPS as the other two roles put together.

Adding two new DPS roles isn't a bad call.

Rift has excellent example of bard that has like 8 10-30 second buffs they rotate that makes up the majority of their rotation and just 1-2 damage dealing or healing finishers. The greatest issue is that just about none of the already present encounters support a straight up Support role. I mean fucking AST has made things pretty weird as it is, but if there was an actual role for support I imagine all present content would just become incredibly stupid. It's the same way that we can't avoid having mitigation tanks because the entire game involves tankbusters that kill you unless properly mitigated or outgeared. Current content, even though it becomes past content, will just about always limit what they can do until they change the design of it.
