I would say that every release has a fun meta until it gets solved. Old Gods took a little longer to get solved than most I would say and had all kinds of funny decks going on.
Well, mostly.

Zoo was solved pretty fast and it forced people to try all kinds of different control/C'Thun/N'Zoth decks which was fun.

Only if they do what they talked about in the Q&A. make it standard only with a much bigger chance of getting a choice of cards from the latest expansion much more often.
But even that isn't guaranteed.

There are many examples of a better done draft format but Blizzshit refuses to accept that they made a mistake. The format should let you pick more than 30 cards and than make a deck out of those cards. This way you will pick the cards that work well only in combination with other cards, but won't be forced to play it if you don't get your other cards.

Shaku is pretty shit as far as legs go. Undercity basically does the same thing. Shaku is just a slightly better body with the (rare) possibility to steal more than one card.
Genzo is pretty shit as well, he needs to survive to get the draw, and yet health is his lower stat.

The only time this game has an enjoyable meta is the 24 hours after an expansion releases. People are doing fun, creative things and nobody knows yet which cards are overpowered. After that 24 hour period the try hards figure out which cards/decks are the most broken and then the ladder is infested with cancer.

Or I guess they could let you draft 30 then pick up to 10 cards to swap out (like pick one card and it offers 3 alternative choices so there's still some rngshit element) so you can remove weaker irrelevant shit

Neither will happen since that'll require more than 2 hours of coding for mobile clients and team 5 prefers RNG mechanics (losing due to being offered shit cards vs someone offered amazing cards, pulling retarded combos from cards that generate other class' cards/random spells and so on) over skill, planning, or anything that requires more thinking than the average mobile game.

Completely agree. I say leave it in wild, but draft 40 cards at least. I don't know if I'd change picking from 3 or not. I just know that how it is, it's about getting big bodies, and swing spells, then not getting fucked. There's rarely thoughtful play or synergies, because you're loath to pick cards that need synergy to be strong. Arena as it is just doesn't reward intelligent drafting or play. It's just brain dead pick the stickiest things, and board clears/hard removal, then hope you get your broken low-drop.

Ok:

The fun of arena is that its a draft mode (poorly balanced, but that's what it is). So basically, you pay 150 gold to go build some randomish deck with what you can and pal against other such decks, giving you a break of the ranked meta. That's basically the whole appeal to it.

So my point was that you paid for that, and should simply pick the best card offered to you, based on their utility/stats etc and not freak out if they're sub-par cause everyone will have sub-par cards here and there, that's the whole point.

The Chinese server was kill and they had to roll back the database. Meaning any progress through four, I believe, days was lost. Packs, cards, levels, wins, ranks... everything.

That means people who unpacked lets say 2 golden legendaries during that time lost it.

The company in charge of Hearthstone in china gave the player 1k gold and 15 packs. Everything bought it money will still be given so yeah.

The interesting thing is this. To go back to the 2 golden legendary example.
If you got a legendary on your Xth pack, you would get a legendary on your Xth pack after the role back. The rarity of the cards in the pack are dedicated by your account seed while the actual card is decided when you open the pack.
So if someone opened 5 packs going like
>1 rare 4 common
>1 rare 4 common
>1 epic, 1 rare, 3 common
>2 golden legendaries, 1 epic, 2 common
>1 rare, 4 common
That someone would have gotten the same rarity in the same order in the 5 packs he opens up after the roleback. However, what card pack he opens is important. If he opened 5 classic packs, he needs to open 5 classic packs after the roleback. Any other 5 packs will get a different result.

The Chinese player gave a ton of screenshots of their packs, even some videos of opening packs are floating around.

Scarab is better because it discovers specific cards (lots of secrets and good cards for mage, good cards for shaman and paladin), brings small 1/1 body that can be buffed with generated cards or cashed in with equality and generate even more fuel with Brann. Light in the Darkness is a huge tempo loss, second Tirion once in a blue moon and +1/+1 doesn't make up for it at all. I've only seen it played in weird Reno paladins.

Also you finish the quest of the one who issued the challenge. So you need to play 2 games. Once you challenge your friend, the other time your friend challenges you.

basically if a team with a healer goes against a non healer team, the healer team will win like 90% of the time (and probably should be able to win 100% of the time)

theres a few more specific and less extreme cases like that too but that kind of experience and feel is where the complaints came from and making more balanced match ups even outside of the healer/no healer was what they implemented

so for example in game it could mean if you play 10 games and never see hero Y, then you que as hero Y 2 times yourself and the enemy team has hero Y both times

where hero Y is like special enough to be part of this shit

Operation help a Wild brother out: Be kind, Concede

Hi everyone. Recently I have been able to achieve Legend in Wild for the first time. I don't normally have much time to play so I chose Wild this season to get to Legend and finally got the card back of my dreams. Alone the way I have had some grueling matches, but at Rank 1 I was able to face a couple of opponents from Legend that insta-conceded for me, which helped my Legend Run immensely. I greatly appreciated their help and as soon as I crossed the threshold I insta-conceded against 5 of my next non-Legend players as a way to pay the kindness forward.

This got me thinking- why don't we all do this act of kindness in Wild near the end of the season? Everyone knows that Wild Legend rankings are not that important, and yet it would be really neat if more people can get to Legend and get those sweet rewards after grinding endlessly from Rank 5. Infact, for a very trivial sacrifice you could potentially really make someone's month.

So I implore you- if you are in Wild Legend near the end of the season and are facing a non-Legend player, simply concede and help a brother out. We would be eternally thankful to you and will pay it forward as soon as we get there too, so that we can pull more of our brothers into the Promised Land.

If you don't want to do it, then no problems, this is entirely voluntary.

Just remember- should you want to help a Wild brother out to get to Legendary, then Be Kind, and Concede.
