You all fail to realize the wasted potential of all this legacy support, support for recent archetypes and new archetypes in general.

As long as 4-6 decks dominate the top spot, very few people will actually care about all of these new additions and the culture will remain stagnant with very little reward in experimentation. Yugioh has the potential to be a flourishing card game, but without a structured metagame the shit vs not shit dichotomy will remain.

The only answer is to create a tiered metagame. Konami should repurpose their tournaments so that different tiers receive different prizes, this way no one steps on the toes of the players who insist on using the cream of the crop, but players who want to use other archetypes have incentive to do so.

It's the only way. Deep down, you know it, don't you?

It's a great game for beginners but it doesn't really teach you much about the new summons mechanics like Xyz, synchro, and Pendulum. On the plus side, best girl teaches you the basics of YGO as well as some simple strategies.

Age of Discovery is the perfect pack to start with since you get a lot of in theme cards for water monsters without being left with a bunch of off theme cards for different decks.

However, Legacy of the Duelist is a far better choice since you can play with the official Ygo rules (40-60 card deck with 5/5 zones) and get starting decks for the all the summoning methods (from ritual to Pendulum). The only downside is that it isn't free

okay so why doesn't this work in a chain. i understand that if you use threatening roar after a monster declares an attack it won't stop that monster's attack, and if you respond with VFD's effect to a manju who just normal summoned and is searching, it won't stop the search.
and i could understand miserasaurus not doing anything if it prevented targeting since the targeting already happened, but once it resolves, my dinos should become unaffected by ignition effects, normal spells, etc. during this main phase.

Eidolons get the best shit because not only their fusions are slightly generic (just aleister + any X attribute monster except divine, when do we get divine eidolon beast) but they are also incredibly strong, take Merkabah who is like Herald-Lite or Raideen who's a book of moon on legs or the fact that having aleister on hand is a +1000 ATK for any of your monsters, Eidolons have an amazing toolbox and considering their main engine is just 9 maindeck cards, they can be put on ANYTHING. But what do non eidolon decks have?

Genghis is a promo in the yugi tin, though multiples of him is ideal. Gust King is available in the Kaiba tin, you only need one of him.
But yes, slimes are available in the mega tin packs, along with a bunch of other D/D cards including Oracle King and Wave Oblivion which are nice to have; most decks run an Oracle King and some / a few run Wave Oblivion. Kali Yuga is also in mega tin packs, and I think all decks run him.
