Anon who was having this issue yesterday here.

So I decided to try to completely uninstall FTX Vector and after doing so i launched the game and it was fine again. So I installed Vector again fresh and the problem came back.

I can't find anything online that is describing this exact issue with Vector. Does anyone here have any thoughts? I'm getting desperate at this point.

>what is inertia
BoS is the only "sim" with this retarded plane twitching. Planes have no feeling of mass and inertia, you can do cobra-like manoeuvrers even on fucking bombers.
People abuse that shit in multiplayer all the time by doing this impossible twitches to shoot with such hight deflection that you can't even see the enemy plane, so they just bind a cheaty snap camera to the top of the cockpit.

You have literally the same fucking planes in dcs and bos. It's not hard to compare how unrealistic planes act when you quickly move elevator up and down. In dcs your plane will twitch just a little bit, have more time to react and slow down because it has a huge mass. In bos it will jump on the waves like a fucking dolphin.

It's not even at every airport, seems pretty random. The auto configs have already been run which seems to be the only 'solution'.

How about this?

>You can have your library in the correct order and still see the problem. When you encounter this, you need to shut down P3D and open the "ftx GLOBAL VECTOR Configurator." On the "Airport Elevation Corrections" tab, under "Manual Configuration," you can disable the Vector-produced correction for the particular airport. On a case-by-case basis, you can fix those airports with reduced landscaping budgets.

Pretty excited for the P-39.

Not sure how effective it will be. It was apparently only good when it was low altitude, which is why the Americans didn't want it. Meanwhile the Soviets lived below 5000 meters.

In either case, it has to fly better than the Lagg-3 I assume, which means Russians will have something other than the Lagg that has a 37mm gun. Should be perfect for obliterating German ground attack aircraft.

True.

However, I also read that because the Russians were so used to spin-susceptible aircraft like the I-16 and the Mig-3, they didn't think it was that bad.

That combined with the fact that it was good at low altitudes and had a big gun, it was a match made in heaven it seems.

This guy has a point, I've been trying to figure out WHY there is this constant and insufferable pull to the right on Cliffs over Dover. I don't play the shit, but my father does and is a WW2 sim fanatic, at first we thought his stick was broken since it was a 98 wingman.

I bought him a brand new Hotas and the shit still fucking pulls and bounces around like a mother fucker. I thought it was the deadzone settings adjusted, tested, adjusted again.

Finally I said fuck it and went online to see if anyone had anything on it. And after searching literally every where that has discussed this I have found an Arden group of stuck up dipshits who make wild and vivid proclamations about engine torque constantly wrestling control from you even when flying straight or adjust the trim, WHEN ADJUSTING IT DOES NOTHING.

You can turn off all the realism settings and the shit is still present, I don't know if its rabid fanboy dick sucking or some sort of reverse cognitive dissonance. But I've played IL2 before and I never had to deal with planes that bounce harder than a fucking inflatable castle!

Check rudder/stick calibration. Other than that, yes, engine torque will pull the aircraft to one side, rudder trim is a constant requirement, or just pressing your leg further against the rudder pedal and knowing you'll have to it there for a long flight

CH92, our target grid, is located where my mouse is hovering in the picture.

It is about 1000km from our base, and at our topspeed of 17knots it will take us about 32 hours to get there. I don't see a reason not to go there at topspeed, it is well within our range so no need to be conservative with our fuel.

SH3>SH5>SH4 it is really that simple, ubigay had 2 chances after SH3 to deliver a superior product, they failed both times. I hope future subsims are done by someone else as ubisoft clearly favours their hasty release dates over a polished product nowadays.

Assuming speed of 7 knots, the contact will travel 13km every hour.

26km from their current position, or 2 hours from now, is 38km away from my location. My navigator tells me this is an hours distance worth of travel, this is however wrong and inherent in the game rounding everything down. I am traveling at 13 knots, 38km at that speed will take just under 2 hours to traverse.

The 38km position is actually just ahead of their 2 hour from now location, which should give me ample time to spot and setup. I want this to go fast so I can be on my way again, however that will probably not happen as I am extremely rusty at this and will most likely fuck up something along the way (if I haven't already).
>>
>>166175295
at 97% realism the only thing that I have left off is the "switch of event camera", I left this on for the sake of PICTURES and iirc I can click them away manually if whatever it is showing me proves to be "cheaty" anyway.

Point being that realistic torpedo reloading is on, so even if I wanted I couldn't sperg out and fire all my torps, that shit takes too long, if I linger around a shitty merchant for that long I am asking to get destroyered. Best thing to do with lone merchants after missing a torp is to surface and deck gun. Torping still preferable so that planes have less chance to spot and bomb the shit out of you, but if it comes down to it and I feel confident enough I will surface .

>>166175614
Not sure, I am currently playing vanilla myself as I haven't played in at least 6 years or so, so I didn't want to dive into the murky pool of figuring out which mods to get and which mods would make my system kill itself. I don't however see why the morally ambiguous ports will not work with the oftentimes equally morally ambiguous mods though.

What is worrying me is that, again if I didn't fuck up anything else, my target should be about 7-8km away from me. I should be able to see a ship at that distance in fair weather like I have now. Yet I am not even seeing smoke, let alone a hull of any sort.

Stop projecting, I own all the silent hunter games, buying the installments in the hope they would have improved on SH3. Neither installment did.

The main draw of SH5 currently is the graphics and the mods, along with the fact that it is the latest and least dead in the series.

However even with mods the game is a tedious piece of shit that still has gamebreaking bugs in it. Sure, it looks nice and fancy, and runs fine for a couple of hours, it might even trick you into believing it is a good game. However if you play for A LOT of time (which is what I am panning to do with my current playthrough, a full campaign over several days if not weeks) then all the shit goes from being unnoticeable, to becoming a nuisance to eventually just ruining your experience.

You have either not played the game for any length of time, or are just making these posts because you enjoy negative attention. No matter what though, I am going to continue enjoying my SH3 playthrough, and I am going to continue posting it here. Enjoy your shitty SH5 experience in your own time.

What I don't understand is why you care so much, the only answer I can think of is that you simply want to have an argument for the sake of having an argument, there really can't be any other reason.

To be fair the german way of fusing words makes a lot of sense. If something is one thing, then they make it one word. If you have a police car it becomes a policecar and even in english that's how you say it right? Nobody goes "That's a police (pause) car" they say it like it's one word. It's even kinda used in english some times, First you had Electronic Mail which became E-Mail which became Email. Motorhome is one word too (according to google but not my spell check)

I didn't want one to dud and then have to chase after a zigzagging radioreporting merchant ship heading for the straight of Gibraltar.

I have 12 left anyway, I don't expect to be using them all before my fuel run out, unless I stumble upon a convoy, but I don't expect to do so, this isn't the atlantic.

Currently have a range of 4000km at a speed of around 12 knots. It is about 1100km to base, but I could head to base at a lower speed meaning I could use up about 3200km of my current range and still get home. Although that would be pushing it and I would not have the option to sanic my way out of a sticky situation.

Forget to pause again, come back, the ship is basically on top of me, shoot two torps in the hope of halting it before it inadvertenlty rams me. Angle is to shallow, no good hits, one duds, the other just carries on into the open sea. Get rammed. Will have to surface and finish it manually, also will have to repair the damage.

Sort of annoyed, such a good find and positioning, only to be ruined by my own clumsiness when going to do stuff IRL.

An unknown Soviet attachment is reported to be advancing on our positions. We have been tasked with conducting a delay inside the pass.

At our disposal we have:
- platoon of Leo 1A5 + 1 command tank
- platoon of Marder 1A3 with Milans and PzF3
- attached platoon of Amis in M113s with 2 TOW2s and one M2 HMG
- 2 Jaguars
- 4 Unimogs with TOW2s and PzF3
- 2 Luchs recon vehicles

Terrain is very good, Nice and open with multiple chokepoints, which favours me. Unfortunately we have no info on the enemy forces. It's Soviets so I assume it'll be chock full of tanks and tube artillery with recon out front. I'll begin to create a plan.

The plan is:

1/A, along with 4/A (scouts) move to the front to conduct counterrecon.

2/A splits into two. A/2/A strongpoints TOWN. B/2/A conducts reverse slope defense west of HILL.

3/A is company reserve. If all goes well, they'll just sit there until the (what remains of) company falls back to the final positions. Otherwise they'll be filling any gaps in defenses.

The Americans will split into sections and provide flank security to prevent any pesky recon from getting through. If needed, they'll move to the center.

We also have a mortar section. They'll be deploying a preplanned smokescreen to cover 1/A as they retreat.

Fallback conditions are:
- Receiving artillery fire
- Losing vehicles

Anyone actually interested? Writing these is pretty tedious and difficult for me :(

No plan survives contact. 4/A comes under contact from recon that was already in forward positions. 5 BRDMs jump the Luchs section. The section leader takes a bullet and his vehicle becomes heavily damaged. The BRDMs are dispatched and I call an HE barrage to stop any further BRDMs cresting the hill as the damaged Luchs limps out of view.

The distrupt mortar barrage wasn't enough. Two PT76 move past the wrecks of their comrade BRDMs into the open. Suddenly, they are engaged by one of the Jaguars that was moving into position. One PT76 goes down and the Jag pops smoke and waits for a moment. Unfortunately 1/4/A's radio is out and commander dead. As the rear facing driver (apparently they exist for some reason) frantically shouts over the intercom he sees two vehicles, the vehicle is hit by a HEAT round and the vehicle begins combusting.

The forward driver thinks quickly and grabs a PzF3 as he escapes the new countryside decoration that used to be his Luchs as PKT fire chases him towards HILL.

The remaining PT76 halts right before TOWN and waits. The Americans and the Jaguars are ordered to pull back and wait, while 1/A moves his Leopards up to destroy the light tank. 1/1/A detects the PT76 and the gunner fires two HEAT rounds before the PT76 starts smoking slightly. Meanwhile, the other Luchs moves into the western forest. The Amis and the Jaguars resume movement. The Marders near their assigned positions and begin dismounting troops.

The company commander redistributes new orders. The Luchs will dismount a scout to establish an OP in the forests just southwest of HILL while 1/A moves forward to where the BRDM wrecks are and conducts the delay if possible. Mortars are placed on call to cover just ahead of their future position with smoke when repositioning is called.

Bear in mind all of this happened in 90 seconds..

A/2/A reports all troops disembarked just as B/2/A radios dropping their troop ramps. 2/A's platoon leader decides to move his Milans northeast to the edge of the forest where they can operate from a more concealed position. He moves with two PzF teams and an MG team inside TOWN and tells his Marder's gunner to direct the mech section behind the hill for now. The company starts hearing artillery exploding, but no flying earth or dust plumes. Certainly weird. It can be assumed that its the Soviets putting up a smokescreen somewhere. Or preplanned fire.

Pic is from 1/1/A's perspective.

I was right to send the Americans onto the East flank. Only though execution wasn't fast enough. As the lead track crests a rise, they spot two BRDM-2s and a PT76 The commander and driver have two seconds to scream various assorted expletives as the commander attempts to aim the M2, before a PT76 cuts that short. Seeing the lead M113 vaporise, the second track commander (also shouting expletives), has the better frame of mind to hit the smoke switch while the driver tactically maneuvered in the direction opposite to the enemy.

The company radio fills with news of this after 2/3/E is able to collect himself. 3 platoon leader analyses the map and notes that there are roads and dirt track coming from the area of 2/3/E's contact report and sets up his PzF 3 teams to cover there.

Things slow down slightly. The tank platoon makes it to the dead BRDM, where there are actually 6 wrecks in various states of combustion. 1/A's PL calls for the PSG's section to move to the hill just to the east and watch down the other valley. 1\1\A and his wingman move south, watching the main valley, where the platoon's battle position was meant to be.

Forgot image for last one. RIP

As 2/3/E's ramp stops closing and dismount teams setup, suddenly a BRDM pops into view. The commander, still slightly shocked, iss slow on the draw as 14.5mmm fire tears into the M113. Fortunately the engine block stop the bullets ( and does not explode). A private next to the M113 quickly preps an AT4 and dispatches the lead BRDM-2 before it can do further damage. But it is not over.

A BRDM and a PT76 duck into the forest. 2/3/E can see outlines of the vehicles through the branches to his front and pushes the trigger on the M2. The fire rips through the summer leaves as sparks begin to fly from one vehicle. The other vehicle moves into view and is dispatched by a burst of .50 fire.

Thank fuck for paper armor on Soviet recon vehicles.

Tank gun fire rumbles through the area. A few seconds after the loaders of 1/1/A and 1/3/A call 'UP!' after simultaneously destroying 2 BMP1s, more vehicles move into view. 1/1/A's gunner spots an outline through the trees using his thermals and opens fire. Unfortunately he forgot he had heat loaded after the BMP engagement. The loader lugs a SABOT shell into the breech and the gunner fires. For a split second it seemed like nothing happened.Suddenly, a huge explosion startles the crew as 10 tons of Russian tank turret flies through the air. Another explosion to the right of the burning Soviet tank blares out as a BMP1 explodes from gunfire of 1/1/A's wingman.

The tank section moves slightly west. Their current position gives them little time to react to incoming vehicles. Also the source of the artillery sound is spotted. A wall of thermal obscurant smoke, aabout a km wide is spotted a few clicks south. A worrying sight.

Taking a break for now.

No, I am doing it all manually, not that it is hard if I spend the initial lead up to get on the exact same course as my target. I mean, the bearing is 0 and angle on bow is 0 so shoot torpedo at slow with magnetic fuse and good to go.

If you release it with speed set to fast the chance of it bouncing of the sides is far larger. There are no perpendicular surfaces to hit if the torp is coming from behind (as opposed to a torp coming from the side).

Back. That comment about being out of position with A section of 1 Platoon paid its toll. 1/1/A is hit. The loader is dead and the engine is out. There was another tank that the gunner didnt spot while scanning the area. After dispatching the threat, the PL realises he is in a terrible situation he probably isn't getting out of. There are no recovery vehicles in the area. The platoon leader will face his fate here.

I suppose he would bail and run IRL

The attack begins. It is a disaster for the German force.

4/1/A, the tank platoon's PSG spots a tank 2.5km south and fires. After no telling effect, the enemy tank lights up as muzzle blast envelops it. The tank shell scores true. But likewise, it has no effect on the German tank. The tank's loader barely has time to escape the gun breech's way as it immediately jerks back in recoil. But the Russian autoloader is just as fast. The two sabot rounds pass each other at just about halfway between the two opposing tanks. Both shells hit. Both shells kill.

Both the wingmen, 1/2 and 1/3 are ordered to head back to hill from where they can cover the valley. The radio suddenly stops as a shell hits the tank and a black smoke plumee begins to rise out of 1/1/A. 1/2 upon reaching the position, notices the Soviet force barreling down just pas the entrance to the valley. The Leopard begins to echange fire with the Soviets. Fortunately for the German, the enemies are on the move and are less accurate than he is. But the Leopard's shells are proving inadequate at this range. He cannot penetrate the Soviet tanks and after expending the ammunition in his ready rack, 1/2/A pulls back to reload.

Another break for now. Hope you're enjoying the DAR

Yak-9's were everywhere in 1943 and was the most built soviet fighter of the war. It was actually good also.
