OK, is DQVIII playable on Citra? I don't want to play it on fucking 240p after playing the original on my old TVs on 576i or more. and on 1080p on my PC.

I think there'd be no reason to region lock 3ds local play and as for sd cards you can go up to 128gb. I personally recommend 64gb but it's up to you

You can change the region of your 3ds so yeah, there's no regionlock so you might not even need this. Though when I think about it, the multiplayer might be related to the region of the games and not the console, in which case you could just pirate a game from the other region if you don't have one already.

They can't tell what region your game is, just your console. The bannable offense was going online in a game that wasn't released in your region yet, ie going online in Pokemon Moon on a european console in the week between the North American release and the European release. People were getting banned off of legit carts for doing this.

How to get passed dragon quest 8 Europe cia extra data error
Stable luma build:
1. Download this file https://www.sendspace.com/file/xgdw06
2. Make a new folder in luma called Locales
3. put the text file inside the Locales folder.
Sd should look like this
SD:/Luma/Locales/000400000018F200.txt
4. Go into luma and enable "enable region/language emu. and ext. . code" option.
5. press start to save and start dragon quest 8 and you should be good to go.

Nightly/hourly build:
1. Download this file https://www.sendspace.com/file/xgdw06
2. Make a folder called titles inside the luma folder
3. Make another folder called 000400000018F200 and put it inside the titles folder.
4. Rename the text file from 000400000018F200.txt to locale.txt
5. put the text file inside the 000400000018F200 folder
Sd should look like this

6. Go to luma and enable "enable game patching" option
7. Press start to save and start dragon quest 8 and you should be good to go.

Hold select and power on your 3ds which should launch luma. Stable build has "enable region/language emu" while the hourly/nightly build has "enable game patching" option.
You can always switch between the two with luma updater
