I'm honestly trying I sat at my computer till 2am writing and deleting stuff. Every time I start I keep thinking about the Wonka story and how much I wanna get through and finish it but holy hell the rate people want to charge for a picture of the cast with background is through the roof and I'm not dropping a grand on a request story haha.

Sometimes I find myself motivated by Hanako's route. Sounds weird right? And it is, since I'm motivated to reject it.
That one copypasta some failure posts here every week has Hanako end up in some assisted living home, and I know deep down that's what Suriko was going for when rewriting her route. Sometimes I would consider giving up on university, and live off unemployment checks and social security forever, since /v/ (probably as a joke) makes it sound pretty enticing and besides that it's probably not too shameful since a lot of bright people down on their luck are living like that.
Hanako in her final route doesn't have any interests in jobs or anything after highschool, when asked plainly about the subject. Hanako in her alpha route says she wants to do medicine stuff, which is significantly more admirable, since Hisao responds saying that would need pretty good grades.
So when I have to grind out fluid dynamics for 3 hours, I ask myself if I want to be like the Hanako who has no self-respect and no goals and got violated in an abusive relationship, or if I want to be like the Hanako who showed some backbone and some of that "inner strength" trope like the Hanako I met in Act 1.
Not to mention that you can actually have a decent relationship with her instead of subversions and lies from some spiteful subhuman trash who ruins things for fun.

I just wanted to get that out there and take a moment to really put my thoughts into words.

The next time she got called in she actually managed to sit down for the interview, but she spent the whole time mumbling and staring down at her hands. The interviewer felt her nervousness and tried to calm her but that made her feel worse. She hated being babied and pitied. When the interview finished she barely made it out the door before she started sobbing. She hated being pitied but she hated being pitiful even more. And that's what she was, pitiful. In time Lilly started pitying her too. No; Lily just stopped hiding it. She'd get terse with Hanako if she went a month without an interview. Sometimes, after an awkward, conversationless dinner with Lilly, she'd go back to her room and punch her pillows, just to get the anger out.

The final straw was the boy. Daiichi, he was called, or Dan, back in the States. He was half-Japanese, just like Lilly. They could talk to each other in two languages and share stories about overseas. They were always nice to Hanako when Daiichi came over to the apartment, but she felt like crying every time he looked at her. Not that she liked him especially (in her heart she still ached for Hisao) but she hated seeing Lilly with a boy. She'd been lucky enough already, but now she had sometimes to hold her, kiss her, love her. Sometimes she could ever hear them through the thin walls of the apartment. She'd lay awake at night, listening to them and feeling aroused even as she tried to choke back sobs (not that they would hear her anyway). With Daiichi she couldn't take it anymore. She went to her psychologist. It took a lot of doing, but she got her psychologist to reccomend her to an adult care facility. When she told Lilly she was moving out her friend nodded sadly and put up no fight. Hanako knew she, too, was relieved to have Hanako gone.

So now she's all alone. Sometimes she wonders about Hisao. She wonders if he has a family or children. She wonders if he's happy. She wonders if he ever thinks about her. He wonders if he ever feels anything for her besides regret and pity. As for Hanako, she's okay. She hated the adult care facility at first, but now she feels at home. The nurses are very polite and they all seem to like her, probably because she doesn't have screaming fits or seizures or violent streaks like some of the other patients here. Some of the other residents are nice. There's one girl, Sanae, who she plays chess with. Sanae has severe autism and spends every game babbling to herself, but she's a good chess player and barely notices Hanako is there. Hanako likes Sanae very much.

The facility is on a mountain in the country. Her room is painted peaceful white. There's nothing on the walls. She likes to watch the breeze come in through the window and flutter pale curtains. It almost feels like she's in Yamaku. There's no hope here, not like there was when she was younger, but it is peaceful. No hope means no disappointment. No stress, no self-hatred, no being pitiable ever again. Just peace, for the rest of her life.

Even the most basic "it would be better if it didn't exist" is still a way to fix it.
The real problem is that making an entirely new Hanako route is basically impossible since nobody would draw the stuff needed for it, which marks one of the worst parts about the current route: it completely wasted raemz's talents on rape shit, drawings of fucking nothing like an empty desk or a shelf with a doll, and other scenes that were ruined by an intolerable player character who was used to only make things worse.
I for one would love to write an actually good route for Hanako but it would mostly be a waste of time if it were just words on a page.
