Already bought all the supplies I need, but now the obvious question.. Can I even do all this in one weekend? I think in my head I'm thinking of DXP weekend as like "instant exp" instead of "just double exp" which is probably going to be a lot slower than I remember

I imagine 96-99 herblore will be pretty quick. 800 extreme range, 800 extreme magic, 650 extreme defence, then 800 overloads

83-99 summoning will be 12k pouches, this is the one I'm really unsure of the time it'll take, I'm out of touch with fast methods to most skills because I haven't played much for the last 3 years until recently

A few thousand dhide bodies and some flotsam prawnbrokers won't take any time either I imagine

Do you mean when OSRS released or the year 2007?

A lot of people who come back to the game are under the false impression that 2007 is the 'original' game (and that their old account still exists on those servers). 2007scape (officially 'Old School Runescape') is a brand new rebuild of the game as it was in 2007 which means fresh accounts, empty banks, etc.
Your original account is as it was on RS3, the original version of the game that gets updated weeklyish. If you made an account in 2004 it's chilling on the RS3 servers.

As for which is more popular it's a toss up. OSRS has more "players online" but suffers from a bad bot/goldfarming problem and you'll come across a lot of splashers/afkers.
It also requires more of a time investment (slower leveling) and most skills do not have high level content available. The combat is what you expect (RS2, prayers block 100% damage, click+wait, etc.)
OSRS's only form of microtransaction is Bonds. An item you buy from Jagex that can be traded to other players for gold, which they can redeem for membership (PLEX if you've ever played EVE)

RS3 requires less of a time investment (faster leveling) mainly due to higher level (90+) training methods. Combat is completely overhauled and you'll understand how big of an improvement it is once you reach end game bosses. They require attention and have unique mechanics.
If you enjoy Quests don't even bother with OSRS, they've gotten one quest the 4 years they've been running.\
As far as microtransactions go RS3 has Bonds, a cosmetic shop, and 'keys' you can buy to open chests (for outifts, bonus xp, etc.). This is the biggest drawback in my opinion but can be overlooked.

No you actually cant. There's a cap on how frequently you receive doubloons and thieving/agility give 20% more than other skills. Prif theiving is the fastest way to get doubloons (because it has more frequent xp drops than agility) and it takes 2 hours to get 1k.

So if you're just going around doing normal stuff it'll take you longer than 2 hours

clues arent on par with other money makers because on top of their drop rates for good items being low in comparison to things like araxxor or nex, they also take a massive amount of real time to complete.

you could get incredibly lucky and get multiple dyes in only a handful of clues, but at the same time you could go tens of thousands of clues dry. thats just their nature, considering how low dye rates are.

personally i have averaged maybe 5m/clue, with about one clue averaged per hour of time invested (both in getting and completing them). this is at an above average drop rate of dyes, so its not accurate to the average. ick the numbers anymore, but according to the data stream on clues i would think the average per elite is approximately 1-2m over the span of thousands completed.

Dom tower is boring because killing black knight titan, evil chicken, and Tarn Razlor isn't fun. Even if you can't drink potions or wear a platebody.

Arc is all 90+ skilling so if you're not at Prif it might be a bit beyond your levels.
Telos (new solo boss) is a kick in the pants if you don't have t90s
And Sliske's Endgame requires pretty much every single fucking quest in the game to start

That being said Menaphos is supposedly aimed at all players (ie. not Prif 2.0) and theres some fun updates planned between now and then you don't need to be a beast for. (Evil dave quest, Secret quest, clue scroll rework)
