Any Darius with half a brain just zones the enemy laner and freezes the wave. It's never even about fighting. He'll always be ahead of other melee top laners because of how insanely loaded his kit is for fighting. Even if you gank him and he's 'behind' he can easily kill you unless you somehow outburst him.

For toplane in general: learn how to manage your lane, this goes for top lane in general, if you don't know when or how to freeze and deny enemy xp you'll always be bad at top.

As for Chogath there is a reason why no one plays him anymore, one of the biggest is what I mentioned above, a Chogath's actions are VERY predictable. His CD's are very long, use this as advantage, always take in count after 6 that he'll all in. He's weak as fuck early, use this as your advantage, also ignite.
Learn to predict where he'll land his Q, don't run exactly in straight tunnel, use your damned brain and be a step ahead of him, you can even go towards him a little because he'll assume you'll run exactly away from him.

Be a complete asshole freeze your lane, and remember early XP is the most important thing, then comes cs then the kills.

Remember this: TP is not only for helping your team, and pressuring the map overall, you can use this for yourself, so I'll say it again: Early XP is the king, and wave management. You can't help already hard losing lanes, they lost because they are bad and not worth a teleport, you won't benefit from it at all, and you'll lose XP. gold and your tower too.

Take ignite if you learned all of these above already and go into lane with the mentality that losing your lane is not an option, and your champion is not good at teamfights.

The problem with making a champion that breaks the conventional game design is that it's very hard to balance, and with Riot's track record of balancing, Kog was doomed from the start. Add in to that the constantly shifting "meta" of which champions/items are good, and it was a complete nightmare.

Honestly he's still really strong but the fact on old kog they made his autos do 55 percent damage and trigger on hit was the issue. 55 percent on a champ with double the attack speed cap was too high and 40 percent would have probably been more in line since the on hit from items was most of his damage anyways. With shit tons of tanks running around he's still the best at killing them, his only issue is you need at least one person to constantly stop your from being fucked. Also he is quite cute for a void monster.

If they made his autos do 40%, it'd feel like you were being punished. Skills should feel like they DO something - that's why they're skills, that's why they take a skill slot, and why they cost mana. Yeah, Kog was best built on-hit, but I don't think they wanted to force players into building that - plus, it would completely have destroyed his early game.

As a frequent Darius player. I can say I was expecting nerfs but the Q-Handle-nerf is retarded. Really puts him in to unfavourable matchups with champions he already has difficulty with, so you've got less of a chance to outplay. (Outplay. On Darius. Wew.)

Incorrect. He is incredibly easy to kite. Poppy is not due to her on demand speed boost. Darius has to burst you down the moment he gets a hold on you, chances are in a teamfight situation that wont happen unless he's already gotten five stacks. Poppy runs around and spams Q and you get slowed down every 3-5 seconds or stunned every 8 seconds or so.

Other bullshit like how she becomes practically invulnerable when she has 40% hp or less and gains like 30% ADDITIONAL Resistances to boot.

25% arpen is nothing when you get down to the nitty gritty of it. Most "tanks" will end up with around 300-500 armour (225-375 which only applies to Darius, mind you.) which is still enough to mitigate a lot of damage. What with the whole Redemption and Shield spam going on now he has more health he has to burst through.

If he didn't have 25% armour ignore, he'd be a fucking laughing stock.

You never target champions strong points with nerfs, if you do it just makes everyone be more like the next.
You want your champions to have meaningful strengths that make them worth picking and then couple those with weaknesses you can exploit for healthy gameplay.

I really like the handle hit nerf in particular because it gives more power to outplaying without directly messing with Darius if he does everything correctly against a brain dead opponent.
