For Saihara, I think he's seriously the best MC in the series so far. Starting with Kaede's perspective and showing how insecure Saihara is at the beginning and then slowly changing at the end to be a reliable group leader is great. I like Maki too and while I don't think she's hated, people think she's super boring, so I probably have a twisted definition of what's interesting anyway.
