Grover = constant healing and his ultimate will make your team immortal unless Drogoz or Skye ult, his attacks deal up to 1200 damage if he is far away from the target
Pip = not so good at healing, but he got a lot of mobility and CC
Mal'Damba = the most constant healing in the game so far, and his reload stun is pretty annoying if you know how to use it
Grohk = his healing is stationary and it's not so good, but has a card that heal a health percentage instead (still the weakest healer right now)
Ying = her illusions will heal instead of attack, so you should spam them whenever you can and never stand still, and she got the most damage out of all healers with Shatter

I really like Bomb King, Mal'Damba and Ying. I've just been using the basic card thingies, and for items, I just found myself getting cool down and damage reduction when I was playing Mal and Ying. I'm not asking for spoon feeding, but can anyone steer in the right direction for what these three God's generally want their cards to focus on and what items to get?

The best decks for champs focus on one or two abilities. Just don't make a Shatter Ying build, everyone will hate you.
As for items, they're best determined by who you face and map. So for example, BK and they have a tank on their team? Go Wrecker. They have a lot of AoE damage characters? Blast Shields it is. Ice Mines, Master Riding is almost a must. Your ult can have a big impact on a fight? Morale Boost.

Either you misunderstood something, or the guy explaining didn't get something right.
You can only have 2 illusions up at a time. With Rewind, you can Shatter them, then DL to get another 2 for Shattering (4 total quickly). Don't ever do that unless you're bombarded by Cauterize 3.

Frontline I'm either Barik or Ruckus.
Support is either Ying or Grover.
Damage is negligible, but I tend to be Drogoz.
Flanks are usually untouched aside from Buck since he's the only one that has a real chance of escaping. Evie's fun, though.

My problem with the two of them is that they tend to go from full-to-dead in the span of about two seconds. I could walk up behind a completely oblivious Kinessa, get maybe one or two shots off, and then a Viktor and a Buck will spring out from behind a box or around a corner. Or worse, a Cassie.

Question: Why do so many people try waddling away from Fernando after he gets up close? They generally hold S and try to pop the shield and it's hilarious because it means I can lead them like cattle for as long as my shield holds up.
