Really wish there were people that actually played PvP on PC. LTS is fun but I really want to go full COD mode (a lot of the time actually) and just run around without having to worry about getting fucked by a tone.

The sequence for me usually goes like this. I pop out from inside a building nearby so they don't see me coming and jump on. Assuming they don't have a smokescreen, and that none of their friendly titans are nearby and immediately notice and pwn me, there's a moment of tension wherein we both wait for the pull to take place and for me to jump off. Then they have their split second for a chance to get at me, while I in turn attempt to direct my jump onto the top of a nearby building, or around a tight corner where they can't follow me - just preferably anywhere other than an open stretch of map that would leave me face down ass up in front of said titan.

But most of the time I jump off, heart racing and immediately get turned to pink mist.

Is it just me, or does the thermite launcher seem to suddenly do more damage? I'm shaving multiple bars off of enemy titans, when before I'd be lucky to get one. I'm not using the extra thermite kit, either.

Why do silencers have such an absurd damage penalty instead of just a higher damage drop off ? How the fuck are you supposed to use them on slower firing pistols like the Wingman or Mozashotgun who rely on their damage ?

I really like the designs of all the pilot weapons, each one makes sense of what they do and how they function bar one. The Cold War bugs me in how it looks like it was originally designed to be some sort of energy sniper rifle with the top rail mount and bipod. I love how the Cold War functions but to me the weapon model doesn't really match what it does.

Maybe Spitfire's worse. Jesus Christ, Spitfire. It had a niche in the first game when you could use it to shred titans you were rodeoing, but in this game--especially compared to devotion--there's absolutely no niche it fills.

What kit is best for Northstar? Im running Nuclear Eject and Viper Thrusters at the moment but her core honestly isnt great so it doesnt do as much as Id like. I know enhanced payload is actually worse, is piercing shot actually any good or should I just stick with Viper

I still don't understand one thing, why the fuck was Cooper sent into a battlefield as just a rifleman?
I mean, he was already mostly finished with his pilot training, had another expierienced pilot helping him and he was faster than shitton of Militia pilots.
If pilots are so rare and powerful why the fuck would you send a person who just needs a week of training at most into a certain death as some shitty grunt without any equipment? It's literally sending a man you wasted months training to get himself killed despite the fact that he had big potential and barely any training left.
Couldn't they give him a fucking jetpack at least? He was already trained in using it and it would only increase the chances of militia winning, they steal shitton of IMC tech so they must have at least few spare jetpacks.

It is a skillful weapon for the most part. As long as you're not being a slow poke, swinging around and getting quick shots off on moving targets is pretty satisfying.

Enhanced Payload is absolutely a viable choice. It's a massive increase in the Cluster Missile's area of effectiveness, so much so that it's possible to kill moving pilots or reach around an A-Wall to kill the pilot on the other side. Buildings with windows become death traps, and then there's the obvious benefits of having a bigger explosion radius when fighting titans.

Viper Thrusters is good too, the change in the last patch moved them from "never-ever" to arguably the best. Being able to rapidly advance while charging your railgun is a huge benefit.

Threat Optics is a trap, I feel like Piercing Shot is too situational to be of use outside of LTS, and I've never felt the need for Twin Traps.

Nuclear Eject is probably a solid choice, especially because you can be cute with it + your Tether Trap, but I've never been comfortable with the "on death" perks. I'd say Counter Ready or Turbo Engine are probably your best picks otherwise, although it's important to note that Turbo Engine's really only good for big boosts of speed--it increases the cooldown time on all your dashes when it gives you that extra one, so it doesn't make you that much more mobile over-all.

Having a second Electric Smoke is good not just for removing rodeoing pilots, but for breaking LoS (an important thing for the only titan with no shield) and, again, the possibility of being cute and Tether Trapping them in it.

Because Lastimosa wasn't actually supposed to be training you. He mentions this once during the simulation, and Coop himself could be (dialogue option) sqeuamish about calling in a titan. It could also explain why Briggs doesn't recognize that you'd be mostly qualified for BT, because you were never officially in the militia's pilot training, nor registered as a pilot-in-training.

Plus it's full combat certification pilots who are the rarest. Some of the AI titans in TF1 campaign are only seen in their titans, as well as all IMC generic titans, which suggests either they prefer titans, or are only trained for titans. The lore states pilots come from anywhere, such as salvaging, construction, mercenaries, so skillset varies widely.

So where other pilots have to be trained for infantry work, Cooper had to be trained for Titan piloting and the other stuff.

Playstyle: Go fast during A-wall cooldown to reposition and optionally get style kills on slows and grunts. When A-wall is up, find a nice and comfy spot to take a 10-second point-and-click break.

To add to this, pair AWall with Amped Weapons. Amp up your DMR, kill someone while behind your AWall, then IMMEDIATELY bail out. Very good chance that the person you killed will make a beeline for your AWall.

Not necessary, but you can certainly fuck with people this way. I know people get ultra salty when I kill them with AWall cheese, so I usually bail right before the AWall itself ends.

depends. do you often find yourself unable to kill pilots without reloading? go with extra ammo if you often cant take them out in a single magazne, or if you want that extra ammo for titan damage.
otherwise take faster reload. with how slow it already reloads combined with the windup shooting, it really helps a lot.
its one of the few weapons i forego tactikill and go with extra ammo and faster reload. its hard enough to hit good pilots, need every shot and fast reload i can get. i really like peltering titans with the cold war too, something oddly fun about it.

Just make sure you're maintaining your speed as much as you can. Only touch the ground to slide, and if possible make that slide a bhop.

you should only ever touch the ground to slide under the wall near the halfway mark, otherwise the big thing is the wallrunning angles you take so you're not losing speed by taking a right-angle jump from one wall to the next compared to a 120 degree-plus one.

But I actually thought the flatline did pack a punch. Here's the thing, it has a lot of horizontal recoil making unreliable at best at even medium range. So you wanna use it in close quarters. Only problem is, you'll get wrecked by SMG users in face-to-face fights.

If it recoils just right, it kills quicker than the R201 (which is saying something) but if it recoils wrong, 3/4 of your bullets will miss, and your target will have enough time to spin around and kill you, even if you were flanking.

Go fast and come up behind, and it actually has good ttk in close quarters.

Roll Battery Back-Up so that way you can take the chip damage that pilots deal while you roll people, and you're still a fresh-as-a-daisy Ronin by the time other people start dropping.

So Nuke Star is super fun, I've finally found a playstyle that works for me.

One trick pony whose primary weapon is absurdly good at taking out pilots and doing decent chip damage to titans that eventually allows for a barrage of homing missiles. All while safely behind a shield.

It'd be fine if you only had to deal with one but you're typically dealing with 2+ so counting shots becomes an exercise in concentration so god help you if you're using a Titan that requires you to think.

How do you use Legion against Ion 1v1? Vortex is a hard counter to anything in my arsenal.
Usually I have to back off and long range the Titan, which isn't always practical.

You can get past Legion's shield up close, and Legion can't stop spinning cannon with shield up so when both of you get doomed you can't terminate Ion because cannon won't stop spinning so you just get executed.
