Really hope Red Mage opens the door for some magic-heavy comps like BRD-RDM-BLM-SMN in Stormblood. I mean ideally balanced compositions are a little better than lopsided ones, but if all-physical is allowed to be meta a mostly-magical one should be too.

They cost 150 Lore each. You can get 1 with an Expert Roulette daily and 10 from doing Leveling Roulette 3 times. If you do Leveling Roulette at cap three times with bonuses you effectively get 13 Shards per weekly (100 Lore three times and completing the weekly).

You can skip lapis by getting the boss' hp to 60.9%. My group of mediocre players gets his HP to 62% or 61% before the QTE, then we melee limit break and dump off-gcd damage onto him as soon as he lands. He will sometimes get the invuln from limit cut as the LB goes off, but will still take the damage from the LB and go right into eternal darkness. I am a healer not a DPS, but as far as I know we don't hold damage or anything like that, just pedal to the metal the whole time (but people save an off-gcd or two for when he lands).

Summoner or Scholar i guess? Solo is pretty hard. You're gonna need max-potions and if you get hit by pretty much any boss mechanic you'll fail and don't even attempt it solo before you build up your aether in matched parties.

Yeah we're just an average group. Most of us are competent and some of us do pretty good damage but it's the kind of group that would have never made it past A3S or A8S but does just fine in creator. You melee LB him ASAP after he lands and everyone else pour damage on him and you should get it as long as you get him to 62-61 before. Be sure your healers are ready for eternal darkness right away and your tanks may want to move him around depending on how your group does things. The first time we skipped it everyone dropped their spaghetti and we wiped soon after.
