1. It's free
2. There's no new content, it's just a single high-quality editor that lets you change just about everything you feel like
3. Booster Packs will feature the top mods each month the Community picks to be added into the game with achievements and all, pick is decided by votes held on the Isaac Blog, minor tweaks on Nicalis' part so they work with the game as a whole.
4. Salvage Edmund's name and make a name for Nicalis as based, finish the year of Booster Packs, go on to new projects to either fuck up again or keep the ball rolling, rake dosh either way.

there's a lot of good/decent tear effects, void and smelter are ridiculously good, sack of sacks is great (+sack head is infinite active charges), eucharist and duality would be more interesting if angel rooms were better, D1 has some interesting uses

then you have synergy items like dull razor, acid baby for phd, ace cards and black rune, fish tail and crow heart trinkets. game-changing trinkets like fractured moon, silver dollar, bloody crown. the bulbs are good for certain builds, the locusts are okay.

most of the buddies and orbitals seem bad, all the "chance to consume on hit" trinkets seem like shit, everything else is filler

After that shops are gone and you're the lost. I decided to stop looping there so I'm not sure what happens. Maybe treasure rooms are gone after?

This kind of thing is why I'm interested in getting the Isaac community to give each iteration of each track (Basement Theme, Mom's Heart theme, etc.) a rating out of ten. Then we can compare the results and find out who is truly superior.

At least that's the theory, anyway. I'm thinking of including the music from the original/WotL, Community Remix, Rebirth/Afterbirth, and Antibirth. Haven't had much luck finding a complete playlist that has all of the Community Remix tracks, however.

I haven't played thousands of hours of isaac but I still played the original quite a bit. Rebirth is relatively late into me playing it, so I don't really think it fits.

The original's is much more subdued and morose, which I think fits the game a lot more than everything in rebirth.

Wow. I've played well over 500 hours of FTL and never knew that middle mouse paused. TFW you learn something new and awesome about one of your favourite games.

In that case, FTL is absolutely ideal. Not only is everything driven by mouse, but you can use Captain's Edition to greatly increase the game's longevity. The Stations Job and Strange New Galaxy mods are also good for a bit of fun, albeit not remotely as complete or polished as CE.

I don't really agree with that, to be honest. The balance isn't perfect due to occasional glut of trash in the shops, but CE is beautifully polished otherwise. The new sectors, ships, music, and encounters are all wonderful, CE easily adds as much raw eye-candy to FTL as Antibirth does to Isaac, and I love how much fun stuff there is to play around with without feeling like they completely overloaded the game with every possible thing they could think of. (I'm not a fan of 'everything and the kitchen sink' mods and whilst CE flirts with that, it manages to show enough restraint to be magical aside from intermittent shop glut).

I was even able to help contribute to getting a re-balance for some of the ships' CE configurations (although you can always use the vanilla configurations minimod with CE if you don't like them). The Zoltan A is very slightly less gamebreaking now, the Stealth B performs its job as a glass cannon again (something it failed to do for a long time with that awful Naginata beam), and the Zoltan B has gone from one of the least fun ships to one of the more fun ships. Rock A also got a small buff, but, hey, it's the Rock A. The Rock A is always going to be absolutely worthless.
