Not everyone plays 10-20 PVP games a day. It can awhile to get every champ if you also want to get runes and runepages. This person started 5 years ago back when champs were still expensive. If you started collecting champs last year you were buying champs at a time when champion prices get discounted for every new champ that gets released. It's cheaper to get champs now that they get price reductions and you also buy champ shards. Loot boxes did not exist 5 years ago.
