dark is hard to grind. magna drop rates are 1/4 of the regular elements' rates, and at 23.4m HP dark's magna is by far the longest and hardest to mvp, even though she has a cheese strat you can make use of

Stop being a dumb retard and just go dark. This game is literally an endless grind so if a little grind scares you off then literally quit the game already because this isn't for you.

Starting as dark gives you a very rough early game because you don't have easily obtainable dark SRs but your mid and late game will be better than anyone else because dark is fucking broken and stands at the top of every other element. If you need a dark summon then go pick up a diablos or a basilisk from their respective places for poverty summons and eventually replace it with a Celeste magna summon.

In a few words, suck it up and start grinding towards something actually worth it. You'll thank me later for it.

dark fencer would still be your go-to for soloing, if you're lacking in heals during the early stages my advice is to either use typhon support, use korwa instead of cerberus since cerberus is really weak, or if at all possible use an elemental advantage weapon on your mc + djeanne + vampy + korwa and use grand order

that's a good composition too. mostly I feel my grand order suggestion is the best because when you're a dark fencer, you naturally want your debuffs to land on the enemy, and using an elemental advantage weapon will make them a LOT more likely to do so

of course, if the enemy is light/wind, you can't really use an elemental advantage weapon and also benefit from grande's aura. so anything from full dark team to 3 dark + korwa which either of us talked about is a very, VERY viable start. believe me, you're in a very good starting point as far as team compositions go

Around either Rank 30 or 50, you'll be allowed to participate in Magna raids. You'll pretty much fight the same bosses, but with "Omega" slapped next to their name. Pretty much, the next difficulty, and the first real grind to the game. It is expected of newbies to leech, so don't be ashamed.

Magna raids will drop SR weapons uncommonly, SSR weapons rarely, and the exact SSR weapon you need almost never. They'll also rarely drop SSR summon versions of themselves, and their passive will boost the passive skills of the weapons they drop.

Don't listen to the guys who are calling out that you should go dark straight of the bat. They are meme:ing on you.

You don't need a full SSR team to mvp magna bosses. You don't even need a full SSR weapon grid. And you got THE strongest wind character in the game.

Get a mix grid of tiamat guns (do not uncap) and SR wind weapons (uncap) dropped from tiamat and you'll have a very solid beginner line up.

ONCE YOU GOT THAT grinding events and renown becomes MUCH EASIER and MORE EFFECTIVE, and you can then switch to dark or earth or whatever.

The thing about light/dark is that it got nothing in the way of SR weapons and the magnas have lower drop rates, especially on the stuff you need. This means you are shooting yourself in the foot for instance if you have to grind an event with an unknown modifier weapon.

Starting off with dark is the way to suffering and bogged down advancement.

I've attached my dark grid so you can see my progress and decide for yourself. this is what it looks like after just over two months of gameplay (started at the end of halloween's legfest). there's also another 1* axe I'm not using. progress IS way slower than other grids, but I do feel that you'll save more time by working on dark off the bat than by starting wind then branching out to dark

Two things makes Light/Dark bad starter elements.

1. The SR weapons that Luminiera (more commonly referred to as Chev) and Celeste (boat) drop only have skills that increase your HP.
2. They have low drop rates on SSR stuff you need.

The reason you care about weapon skills is that the way to get stronger is by leveling weapon skills with attack up modifiers. You are especially interested in what the magnas drop since their skills have synergy with magna summons which means effectiveness doubles.

Since neither chev nor boat drops any SR weapons with an attack up skill and the SSR weapons have comparatively low drop rates, it means you'll need more time to become strong. This is bad because it means you have to work harder grinding to make up for the fact that you are dealing less damage and you won't be able to take on solo bosses of harder difficulty that drop more shit you need.

Basically you should read the fucking guide.

If you're too weak to get decent loyalty from the event raids, then just keep the event guy on the team at all times and do stuff that costs more ap. It's more or less a 1:1 ratio.

It takes like a half a month to get a functional wind grid thanks to how retardedly beginner friendly it is because of casino and the SR weapons Tia got.

And super short term your main goal should be to be able to clear all the hard story boss fights without strike time, because that's how you grind the anima you need to host your own magnas these days.

Then once you can host your own magnas you'll get the host chest, which will speed up building a grid.

Then the next step is to be able to mvp your magnas so you get the mvp chest, further speeding up how fast you can build a grid.

The biggest wall is the fucking dark elements. Where the fuck am I going to find a thousand dark elements when the game barely gives you dark summons?
Celeste isn't exactly generous, not even with selfies and farming other things for elements is a massive pain in the ass and a waste of AP.

Axe elements too, you either have to luck out and roll some SSR axes from gacha or grind and get lucky with a ton of SSR axe drops from other places.

I hate these two so much that words cant even describe my hatred for them. I have elements and gacha weapons for literally every weapon except axes.
