I'm allowed to be rude. This is 4chan. I'm not a perfectionist but I'm telling you that I would never recommend a newbie to read the guide for some of the reasons I have stated.

If you don't want to be criticized for under performing, don't under perform.

The amount of time it takes for me to even get into a game is utterly soul crushing. I frequently get bugs with friends where I can't join a party or host one and even after forwarding ports, I still get connection errors all the fucking time. This to say nothing of the east/west coast servers being stuffed with nothing but diamonds and plats. Now normally this wouldn't be a problem but as soon as I get into a match against them at least one pubbie leaves and then we're stuck in the matchmaking screen waiting for one more for eons.

I will say as a positive note the Castle guide is the direction I would say it needs to go. It starts off by explaining how castle can be played poorly and what things you might need to consider when playing the character.

You're not 100% wrong though, it'd probably be nice to have a compilation or guide on advanced or unorthodox strats. Separate it from the newbie advice as not to give overconfident recruits bad ideas for their skill level and it'd be fine, though you'll always run into issue of advice, guides, or strat info being biased or being a narrow opinion in someone else's eyes, but good players won't care and'll do what works for them as they learn anyways. It really doesn't matter enough.

Just as an example, on both Rook and Doc's thing it states you will take the SMG... but not why, but then states you can take the shotgun in some situations... but never really stipulates what those situations are or how rare they can be.

But reinforcing how a pump shotty on a 1 speed operator (slow as fuck) is not a great idea, because you can't slow the gap nearly as fast as faster characters and have your shotgun enter reliably lethal range... It's that sort of stuff that visualizes the "Why" you are saying things.

It's easy to tell someone something but the whole point of a guide is to teach them, and make them understand.

Further insight into little things like that, proper crosshair placement, how proning in very close quarters exposes more of your body than crouching, etc. would be valuable information to a lot of new, or even already decent players.

This is the left half. The cylinder chambers are black partially already, this is because I painted it first. Basically below a certain point I painted it a matte black and put a clear coat on it.

That's the pre-picture basically and this is the 50% done post-picture.

So for bandit I went for Yellow on Black. As you can see there are quite a few places where the tape wasn't perfect so it allowed yellow onto the black primer which is fine because I haven't yet sprayed the black topcoat onto those sections.

I expect afterwards to have to go back though with some spray paint and a little brush and touch it up anyway.

The handle I covered in epoxy putty and tried to shape closer to a real handle, and the shape came out meh like a beat up fruit. So I'm going to spray that a glossy black to hide the surface a little better then wrap it in paracord.

Suggestions wanted from people who have the same operator taste.

You understand the average person doesn't give a fuck about the anti-Ubisoft meme. Seriously EVERYONE hates EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Nintendo, etc.

If you follow the internet hate train, you can't play video games.

Rainbow Six simply isn't popular because it's a multiplayer only shooter released when most of every multiplayer only shooter gets insanely negative press, and Ubisoft didn't have the support or hype to move units. Their post launch support has been life-support and "fufill the season pass promise" until about 6 months in when they realized Siege has more staying power than Division, despite having maybe 1/15th the players, atleast they are still playing.

If Ubisoft approached this with a severely long term prospectw, with the goal to shift over to F2P (or $5 steam sale CSGO tier) sometime after 2 years, they probably would have changed a number of things with how they handled this game. BB would have been fixed in weeks, shields wouldn't have been terrible for a year, Tachanka would have been given some love sometime before 13 months, etc etc etc.

In many ways Ubisoft still doesn't understand why people are still playing Siege.

I would agree it's super niche, when in reality it doesn't have to be. I know Search and Destroy is super popular on COD, but they still launch with TDM, CTF, and all the normal modes.

The equivalent is Siege is launching a COD with one multiplayer mode. There is no reason they couldn't have found a way to make a respawn mode or just slightly more casual friendly modes as well... OR something more than the "One team defends a room, the other team attacks that room, drone phase for 45 seconds and go" because, lets be honest, Secure and Hostage are virtually the same.

Defuse is neat because you have to defend multiple floors. That shit is fucking awesome, changes up the formula and makes it interesting... But it's only on some maps and on some objectives. Imagine having to defend Hereford on the top floor and basement?

I think this game was essentially a fluke and Ubisoft is afraid to fuck with it since they don't understand why it's popular, and they haven't had a popular multiplayer game in years.

How the fuck do you get better at this game? I just bought it and I'm level 16. I'm only in casual mode and apparently I'm getting matched against plat/diamond ranked players.

This game is fun, I really enjoy it, but I rarely get to play it because the enemy team's game knowledge far succeeds mine and they always seem to know where I am, on top of having superhuman positioning and shooting me through 4 layers of cover.

It just takes time. There are just so many different things you have to learn, and you will eventually.

It takes a long time. It's literally map knowledge. The best things to do are when you know NOTHING, follow someone on attack and just be a team mate. It never hurts to have back up. Standard tactical mindset - look and cover wherever he's not looking. If he's looking up front, you should be looking where you think a roamer might come from

On defense, once you learn the maps just a tiny bit, start playing roamers. You know where the objective is and where they can possible come from (windows) - so start finding places near the objective you think are good spots, or set up "plays" you think might be good ("If they come from here and have a shield I can throw a nitrocell at them") - If you think it's a half way decent place to be, BAM, you just learned a spot that someone might use in the future and know to look out for.

If you still aren't at that point as a defender, feel free to pick someone who is alright just defending the objective room / the room next to it. Rook, Jaeger and others are alright because they don't need to be proactive with their gadgets. Plop it down, and spend your excess time running the map and finding drone routes.

It takes a long time to play this game and get good at it because it's all mental math of probabilities and risk assessments on where the enemy COULD be, and that only comes from intimate map knowledge. You have to play to get better, and you are picking this game up over a year late when we have all had time to learn the maps, and then learn a single DLC map every 3 months. You are trying to learn all of them at once.

Also I was wondering about barrel attachments, I was reading a bunch of posts basically saying that muzzle break is super strong and a dev response saying it's not working as intended and is gonna be fixed.

Those are a few months old but I didn't see anything about attachment fixes/rebalancing when I was reading through the patch notes. The OP pastebin isn't very informative either, it pretty much just says "its preference use whatever you feel like" and links to a video that supposedly is innacurate or outdated or something. And also apparently the ingame descriptions and recoil diagrams are wrong or something.

Alright friends I have a question regarding House.
What is a good setup for defending Split Bomb?
I was playing with 2 friends in ranked today and we have a setup for Kids/Workshop which works pretty consistently, but whenever we were forced to pick Garage or Split we would lose.

I've heard that the site preference is typically Kids > Split > Garage, but i'm not really sure how people effectively defend split. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because so far our plan on house is just to win kids and go super try-hard on attack to win us the match.

Blow pool hatch, reinforce all of Garage and Gym walls, shotgun out a hole between side stairs and pool room, defend from stairs and underneath, you can get shots on nearly all the windows through the hatch, you just need someone in laundry watching for a garage push, if they go hard on garage just climb up the stairs and defend from top, you can kill anyone coming through a breach on the Gym wall through the hatch before they can even see you.

The in-game recoil charts aren't innacurate, they just only show the first 4/5 shots of a spray, nothing more. It can be misleading, especially in the case of the Muzzle Brake. It shows the first few shots on it being much tighter than the other muzzle mods, but after those 2-3 shots the recoil gets wilder than the other two, and it fails to show you that.
