Scandinavia has never had a significant population, I don't know why the other anon thinks we can equate scandinavian population with that of the UK. Scandinavia was never really powerful after Kalmar union, and especially not after Denmark lost Norway, and Sweden Finland. Now each country is even smaller than Scandinavia would be combined. There are some events that could've brought a lot to the table for Scandinavian countries. For example, Norway before the black death killed 65% of their population, was so powerful that they felt they could take on England, which they tried in 1066 as we all know. Maybe they would never manage that, but they did have Scotland who numerous times almost became fully Norwegian clay. If Norway had been strong after the black death, they would own Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, And Norway with much of the Swedish land. They would surely eclipse Denmark, and they also had an eye on the Danish throne, so who knows. And Sweden would not feel so bold after such events either. In any case, as things went, it became Kalmar union. However, even if we kept united for good, we would not have a significant population. The only way we could've become a real great power is if the ruling over England was kept going. Sweden after Kalmar union was actually fairly strong, but they cannot be compared to the major powers in eurupe. Sweden could not even keep Pomeranian clay, and Russia under Peter the great was too strong. After all, Sweden had a really small population.

This mod does weird shit so I don't know why Germany released Eastern Europe and the UK as independent states (they were puppets but I think they aren't in the Axis right now for some reason and the ruling government type varies from Fascist/NatSo to Leftists).

We're still at war with the USA though, I did occupy as far as the Panama canal up until like 1946/7 but then saw that Germany wasn't doing anything to help with an Atlantic invasion and Japan was super overextended after annexing most of Japan's colonies (they owned India now it's free though, actually lots of revolution in Africa is happening too but I have loads of MPs in my colonies) so basically my navy is confined to the med and we pulled back all troops to Europe and Africa.

UK only had like 2 million people in the middle ages, even in like the 17th century it had around 5 million people, then it exploded and went around 15 million by early 19th century and 45 million by world war one.

Scandinavia could have absolutely beaten the UK if it had gotten unified And Scandinavians were exploring, trading, settling and colonizing (Danelaw, Kievan Rus) foreign land some 600 years before the English ever did.

Possibly, yes. But that's also in continuity with history, both the Greek and Roman civilizations, the proto European civilizations, included North Africa and Anatolia while modern one because Muslims conquered North Africa and Iberia and Anatolia cutting off European civilization to just Europe while, at the same time ,European civilization spread much further north and east than either Romans or Greeks card. The last decade has been, all things considered, rather stable. A plot by young naval cadets to murder Prime Minister Tsuyoshi was uncovered by the police and the plotters arrested and his life was again threatened by Korean nationalists. Tsuyoshi's rule has been marked by increasing ultra-nationalist agitation and the complete loss of civilian control of the Imperial Army. His attempts to reign in the military has drawn the ire of both ultranationalists who believe he seeks to shackle the power of Japan and reformers who believe he is only paying lipservice to the anti-military crowd.

The following years will be tumultuous for Japan.

Ok, so after we bled out some Russians together, Commonwealth has attacked Hungary. What I worry about now is that he will lose Hungary as a valid rival, and instead be forced to rival me despite our 200 positive relationship. If he does, I will be alone with no allies, and both Ottomans and Commonwealth will be rivaled to me, and Russia hates my guts.
