Just finished hacking my 3DS, it was really easy and not as luck based as I thought it would be

Every time I run luma, it tells me to update. When I do so, luma proceeds to crash every time I try to run it, until I use another tools like Homebrew Launcher or something. After that, trying to run it again just asks me to update.

Any way to update through FTPD or something? I just wanna figure out overlocking but luma's really throwing a wrench into this process.

so i've got two identical flash drives, same brand, 32gb, purchased from the same shelf at the same time. one works with my wii and vwii just fine. it can load pirated wii games and gamecube. the other will not work with my wii or vwii, and i'm losing my mind over it. it can play gamecube games just fine, but wii games are another story. the games will appear in usb loader gx and wiiflow like anything else and will even load the wii channel video thing that games have, but then i just get a black screen when trying to load. i've tried cloning the working flash drive onto the not working one, but to no avail. i've tried different filesystems and cluster sizes with no luck. the flash drives are completely identical in every way except one shows up as 29.8GB capacity and the other 29.1GB

That's all you need, a microSD card, and a way to load files onto it, preferably a USB adapter for your PC.
During the guide, you'll need to torrent a few files so you need some torrent client software.

I recommend you grab yourself a bigger microSD card. You won't get to store a lot of games on there, but it's sufficient to get started hacking.
After you've installed A9LH you can easily copy the files to a bigger SD card and user that.
With how affordable 32gb cards are that's probably all you may ever need.
Unless, this is the microSD card you use for a DS flashcart or something?

Here's hopefully a quick workaround for people getting black screens.

1. Enter homebrewlauncher using Soundhax like you have been thus far
2. run ctrhttpwn (this allows you to access the ehsop without updating)
3. Press start to bring up the options in HBL, then press "X" to return to home menu without reboot
4. Open the eshop, it should not ask you to update. Search for steeldiver and download (you may need to link an NNID if you haven't already done so)
5. Go to http://smealum.github.io/3ds/ and click on the steeldiver option, and download the files. Also scroll down and get the otherapp bin for your firmware
6. Use the readME in the downloaded files to set up steeldiver
7. enter HBL through steeldiver and run waithax then safehax

I dunno, it's just that many 3ds users who have been looking to hack their systems have been forced to wait for long periods of time just to get a solution for their firmware prevention. Latefags include people who were stuck on 11. firmware and were forced to either do hardmodding their consoles just to downgrade, or some convoluted dsi fuckery. I myself was a 10.5fag so I didn't have a much of a problem but seeing a 3ds like yours that's easily hackable (and also having a rare firmware version) is pretty astonshing. That's all.

Lads, good news, anyone with Henkaku and without working Adrenaline (lacking single PSP app).

IDU mode + Package installer method works.

Managed to re-deploy Monkey Quest Demo and set it from 0 with WipEout Pulse Demo.

Changes from guide:
- If you have saved AP, set its IPs, GW and DNS to some random values, set it to not automatically connect and disable WiFi.
- I used offline henkaku to disable IDU, worked. SET IT IN ADVANCE!!!!!!!

Important notes:
-You can squeeze 230Mb Ape Quest in those 5 minutes, not much more, so at least 2 reboots with IDU mode in this case.

Hi I'm following the cfw guide and I successfully used waithax, but now when I use safehax it freezes at the end of the script and doesn't boot into decrypt9 (all the code jumbles together)

I tried running decrypt9 from the homebrew menu, but it takes me straight back to homebrew menu instead. Can anyone help?
