i second this. the leveling process is quite enjoyable, and youre also able to try out other classes and side content ( most people i know actually ended up sticking with a class other than their starting class)

honestly theres a good amount of side content including the gatherers and crafters, god saucer, special side quest chains, mount minion/collections, aquapolis and potd, etc

id say its about the journey not the destination, but theres also ALOT of stuff to do at endgame as well so i guess its both!

either way im sure you will have a good time, but just make sure you dont rush yourself through anything!

I think the worst part of the Gauss Barrel is how it only actually suits a handful of guns, and those guns were clearly designed with the Gauss Barrel in mind. Meanwhile the majority just have it look incredibly stupid. Kinda hoping SB lets them improve the toggle, and perhaps include different designs for the Gauss Barrel. If they're willing to add Egi glamours, they really shouldn't mind letting me pick a nicer one

I only recently started playing (main class is only lv 35), but I was curious about giving gathering/crafting a go. It all seems rather complicated to begin with, so I was wondering if anyone could direct me as to a good starting class for either?

gathering is a good place to start, as you can use the materials for any crafters later. everything is kinda co dependant eventually so pick up either botnay or minng ( ideally both) and then one of the crafters associated with it ( the smithing and jeweler for mining, alchemy, culinarian, weaver etc for botany)

Gathering is pretty simple. For Mining and Botany it's the same thing. You go somewhere and beat up a node you can detect with your mind-powers.

For Fishing it's different, you go to the right body of water with the right bait and try to get a fish. They walk you through both of them.

Mining is arguably the most lucrative but all are good.

gathering is a lot easier to get into than crafting, because crafting is has all its own skills and rotations and cross class skills so you want all crafters at 50. Gathering is pretty lax on cross class, you dont really need to level the other gatherers to do anything with it. I'd recommend Botany as it makes good money in end game since it has mats for both food and pots.

i recommend you to get some money before starting because you need to invest quiet a bit to level up

for crafting you want ideally have them all at 15, to get the basic crossclass skills, then get cul to 37 and slowly work the others to 50

for gatherer you should either start with miner or botanist to get some basic mats to sell and use for crafting

I hear warriors are best single target tanks paladins are best aoe tanks and death knights are magic tanks

PvP revolves around being able to shit out a lot of burst damage and not so much around DoTs, although DoTs can definitely pressure a healer into making mistakes. Even though SMN is a DoT class, it has a lot of burst it can just dump at a moment' notice and is way less annoying to play than BLM. You could also try out BRD, it's not exactly a caster but it's plays well in PvP.

it's really dependant on lighting and/or character skin. the roe looks ok because the skin is so dark but try it on any lighter skinned character and it just looks like a weird sheen they added to them. also kinda looks more like they just cut away parts of the arms to give them definition instead of making them bigger.
