Okay guys, just based on day 1, what're your predictions on Rise tiers? I'm still very convinced Ramp Dragon and Aggro Sword will be tier 1, and Midrange will hold its place. Some kind of Forest and Blood too, but I'm not sure what.

I'm very unconvinced that Tempo Rune will have staying power and I think it'll fall off as the meta develops. I think the best Shadow and Haven will settle in tier 2, and DShift will drop.

Aggro Shadow is full-on cancer now. I can't think of a counter to it. Sticky low-cost followers, fantastic removal, tons of card draw, and if the game stretches on too long you can just PtP or Tyrant for the win.

So I've been going on a deck binge, after midrange blood which I had mixed success with, I went to Ramp Dragon.

So let's talk cards

Breath of Salamander: Fantastic, to absolutely no one's surprise. 6pp basically board clear that can also be spot removal, though you really want to save it for the board clear. It makes ramping possible because it's basically a get out of jail free card for the tempo loss of ramp.

Date Masamune: Actually decent, I was surprised. First I put him in cause I was cutting some Aelias due to Fervor. He's an on curve 2drop which gives you less chance of bricking your start and enhances to be stupid good removal. I was taking Aurelia ass with him. He's a solid decent and really, the choice was between him and ding dong, and usually I'm actually fine on draw with this deck.

Eyfa, Wyvern Rider: Pretty damn good, I was pleasantly surprised. I mean she sucks cock as a 3drop and you really do not want her as one. However ramping has been much easier to accomplish due to 3 decent-to-good sources, making putting her enhanced version out on time to be pretty easy. The fact that she comes out as a 4/3 storm can't be attacked that evolves into 6/5 is beyond ridiculous. That is really, really hard to deal with and is just fantastic. The fact that she doesn't compete for emissary tutors only makes it better. She's been putting in a lot of work.

Draconic Fervor: Turn 4-5 do nothing, yes. But It isn't just an on the curve play, though if you know you can get away with it (salamander/conflag) then holy shit is it good. It heals you out of the danger zone, it draws cards IT DRAWS cards, and it lets you take less Aelias. This thing is okay if you've got something to ramp into on curve but is actually really, really good later on where you heal to safety draw, and still play really powerful shit.

Ramp Dragon has actually been doing very well.
Tons of Stamina, tons of damage, great healing, great AoE.
Also this is just so fun

Was hoping Shadow would get better, but I've pretty much come to the conclusion Attendant and Corpse are awful for face races. Which is like a third of the DE meta.

My opponent even Urded an Attendant, but I simply dragon warrior evolved to clear both.

It was the best possible luck for me, goblin, emissary, mushu, dragon warrior, Forte going second.

Really? I'm the ramp Dragon poster and I've fought a couple Disco Dragons, and while I see the potential, I'm just not seeing their ability to fight back against decks with huge amounts of AoE and heals. I've eaten several Imperial Dragoons, but it's been fairly simple to do the clear and heal game while just outvaluing them on the defensive while keeping myself out of forte range as they mill themselves.

Maybe my opponents can't pilot the deck worth a damn, but against a deck that can actually really recover from those hefty blasts, it doesn't seem that effective.

I dunno, I've been running a 10000 power liches shadow and it's actually been doing very well against most everyone except 2nd elana haven.

Yes your T1-3 follower-wise are weaker than other crafts, but you have the ability to do complete and utter board control.
You just really, really need to go hard into the LW.
I run four 4 drops: Necroassassin x2 and Urdx2.
I run soul conversion. I run Impious Resurrection.
When I put something down, I can pop it without fail the next turn.

While I generally do not have board control those first few turns, I do not have an empty board either. It's pretty bad to kill these LW followers for the face decks. But then t3-4 comes around and then suddenly I have 1-3 liches and I just removed their entire board while only attacking a minion maybe once.
And then the lich party starts, and it basically never ends.

Shadow can go absolutely insane starting on t3 now, generating multiply 4/4 bodies every single turn while removing threats without trading.

Combine this with Khawy the facecucker and you have an insane value midrange deck.

I was taking tempo rune ass, disco dragon ass, even storm haven ass with this shit. It's really hard to beat 4/4 on t3, 3/3+4/4+removal on t4, charon or some even more liches and removal from other sources on t5. It is fucking nuts.

Contrary to what /svg/ might tell you, DE's meta still had new developments all the way up to Rise's release. So hold onto your goddamn cards if you think there's any remote possibility of using them, because we're not 24 hours into this and no one knows what's actually going to be what tier.

Control is always slow to develop because it has to develop around other decks. Eidolon might not see play at all in January but by March it could be the cancer deck that everyone bitches about here, either way people worried that Control Blood or Eidolon Control are going to be unviable are jumping the gun way too soon, because even if they're correct that the decks have no way of reasonably beating say, Aggro Rune, Aggro Rune might just get picked out by some Midrange that develops next week which dies to a turn 1 Hare amulet.
