Are enrage mechanics the worst decision to add to raiding? I am mostly fine with soft enrages like things in the environment getting destroyed or running out of room because of ground AoE, but this dumb gimmick off "The boss gets bored after 11 minutes and nukes the room" is cancerous design that really limits group composition and promotes artificial playstyles that the devs can't seem to balance around at all.

Okay but let me ask you this. If these raids didnt have hard enrages, would how people play really change that much in a weird way? People act like if enrages didnt exist people would just auto attack the boss for fun or something weird. In reality most people would continue to push their numbers for the sake of fflog competition. The difference is that people wouldn't be forced to play classes they didn't like in gimmicky early progression setups, healers would probably DPS a little less if they were the type to get stressed easily, SCH would continue to DPS because why not, and fights would last 1-2 minutes longer overall. I dont know where people are also getting this notion that enrages are the things that typically wipe groups and separate the good from the bad, when in reality that just comes down to following mechanics because hitting enrages isn't very hard at all with an optimal comp.

Frankly, if a party dies to enrage then it means that so many people had died that it was meant to wipe anyway (Sophia's forgiveness), or that there is a severe lacking of DPS. Frankly, the enrage timers on the extreme primals are so fucking long that if a group can't clear the encounter in that stretch of time, they kind of honestly don't deserve to kill it at all. It's one thing to know mechanics of a fight and another to do actually perform when they happen.

Additionally, the nature of jobs in this game allow you to run double/triple/quad ranged and essentially play Manasong/Bishop for practically infinite party MP. If there weren't enrage timers, no fight would ever end because healers wouldn't ever be at risk of running dry, assuming mechanics are met. The entire point of the enrage timer is to punish groups that have had serious drawbacks due to death, not be an artificial DPS check in the first place.

Because I'm a dummy and didn't hop on the recruitment train, and I vastly prefer to play and chill with friends over 7 random dudes any day of the week, which brings me to the chest system, where I feel it should work like the 24 man loot lockouts, instead of gimping the person/people that could use the loot. The only problem is that every alternative has its own can of worms (such as 7 loot capped people feeding 2 items to a noob or something, game design is hard). In a perfect world I'd be able to raid with buds and still have loot to go with it. Thats because they're not intelligent enough to link enrage timers with group comps. To raiders today, strict group comps to minmax DPS just seem natural, when in reality they only do it (at the cost of some members fun) to beat enrage timers. Just because nobody complains about enrage timers themselves doesn't mean its not an issue. For every WHM asked to switch to AST, thats an enrage time complaint. For every NIN main who was asked to play MNK after a buff, thats a silent enrage complaint. They're pressured by the group to maximize damage and play recklessly, often resulting in wipes from mistakes or not knowing that job as well.

You've never done prog in HW before, have you? Look at the world first kills for Midas. Look at the fact that people have killed Alex Prime with suboptimal MNK/NIN, WHM/SCH comps within the first week days after Angered accomplished world first.

Group comp at this point is literally only about minimizing killtime and maximizing synergy because of how broken double ranged can be. At the level of speedclear play, enrage timer is the fucking last thing on their minds considering they wipe the moment they can't pull out a second Ewer/Spire for another aoe balance within 2m.

Like I said, seeing enrage in 3.4 is a fucking joke. Creator was tuned so ridiculously low because SE wants to revitalize the raiding population. If you see enrage in any fight that was released this tier, it means people fucked up on mechanics and weakness/loss of uptime brought the DPS down tremendously such that you actually saw enrage. There has never been any need whatsoever to bring anything short of a shitty group comp to clear the encounters. Boss HP in relation to when the actual enrage timer starts are so far apart that it's not feasible for any competent group to see them.

Overall synergy and the buffs that Ranged has gotten over 3.0 to 3.3 that make their over raid damage higher than casters.

The ideal DPS setup right now NIN/DRG/MCH/BRD. Disembowel pretty much elevates MCH and BRD to put out just short of Caster DPS. Hypercharge for tanks + 4 DPS and Foe for Healers pushes it completely over.

Most groups for progression and ease of clear don't have to enforce it and preferred people play their most comfortable job. Caster and Monk was seen frequently (still are seen frequently) but the objectively best raid comp right now is DRK/WAR/NIN/DRG/MCH/BRD/SCH/AST.

Since it comes from 4/8, you only worsen your chances going higher, I think. So go for the the highest yield? At least in my experience, when I try to get the more "common" aethersand from 7/8 and up I end up getting the goddamn rarer ones. Anecdotal, yes, but those rare ones don't show up below like 6/8, right.

Your BLM has Foe Requiem in an AoE intensive fight and ONLY gets 1.5k dps? You should get him to check his rotations, and ask him if he's having any kind of mana issues in A9S.

Your NIN's doing fine considering he probably has a horrible SkS filled proto alex/shire mix.

Your bard's very low as well. Can you show us the buffs and dots uptime he had? It should be easy to figure out what the issues were once we see them.

Check your DRG's BotD uptime, it's a DUMMY fight. No way his dps should be that low.
