That spell is just gonna sit dead 99% of the time.
People only look at Necroassassin, Soul Conversion, and Urd because they are good cards (or look good)
Conversion draws you cards so you get more options for playing that turn
Urd gives you a 3/3 and lets you double dip in LW or debuff enemy followers or heal allied followers.
Necroassassin kills an enemy and is a 3/3.

All of them have a direct effect on the board or open up options of play.
2/3 of them can be played regardless of how hard you brick while conversion is a pretty damn good anti-bricking tool.

Impious Rez has none of these benefits. That is why people ignore it.

Like every card game ever, skill revolves around manipulating the odds into your favor, eg. Proper deck building, mulligan predictions, knowing matchups, and overall your own personal luck. Oh and mind games to but only at high lvls where you notice certain oatterns lead to certain plays tgat could win you games if you counter it ir get you killed for getting rused. Like a turn 6 themis will keep any good player modest and not over extend, where an amateur will fill his board and lose conplete control.

Then General is competing with Themsis and Garuda on the 6pp slot. Both of which are kind of important.
Also he's no bigger burst than garuda both are +3dmg, yet he's almost always worse. General might be able to make giga nigga burds or that 7/7 tiger for removal, he's gonna be flat out worse than garuda most of the time, as Garuda is a guaranteed 3 to face at the worst case, with the ability to also go bird to face with amulet-only board. He's got a lot more utility than General, and keeping an early-popped board alive is gonna be a lot more difficult now that every class has the ability to use some sort of t5-6 board clear.
He just seems iffy compared to the other 6drops, and you really cannot be running many 6drops in storm.

Like you could cut themsis for him, but then what's your answer to walls or developed enemy boards before you can put on the pain?

And if general is a big reason for tamer, then that makes it seem even iffier.

I'm not sure why you're hung up on general instead of tamer. I think general is going to be a very good replacement for moon, not for garuda and I think themis is more of a tech choice than a necessary card, it might be entirely unnecessary if people start running lions to contest midsword's board control after the floral turn.

I think General will be a fine, something like 3 Garuda/1 Moon/1 General, or 3/2/1. He's a cheaper Gabriel and you can time him with Amulet unlocks to get some value out of those tigers on the turn they can't do anything. He's a free evolve point and while he doesn't replace Garuda at all, he can still get that extra 3 damage in or act as removal, the latter of which Garuda can't really do on his own.
