I doubt they can unfuck it since there's probably no way for them to track how many slot rerolls someone has attempted.

One of the major issues with the new devs is that they try to push the meta in a specific direction by giving units certain kits that fuck over one prominent type of unit in particular instead of just nerfing the problem units. When these new units don't take or aren't enough to cure the cancer, they keep pushing out more and more until it does and creates a new type of cancer instead. It started back with the old devs when Nerua, Silk, and Lucian started a crit resist arms race which led to Elaine and Shura giving ridiculous amounts of crit to counter them.

Then we entered pen stacking hell and when Lucifer didn't take they decided to push stronger units like Duran, Angela, Altair, and introduce the Dense Magma stone to make sure it did.

Now with pen resist out of control they decided to give thunder and ardor pen aces and then when people bitched they threw Malcolm a rainbow pen ace too so now everyone can do it :^).

Right now they're in the middle of trying to destroy stacking strikers after they pushed them too hard, not only do we have Aiolos and Presty but we have the nerfs looming on the horizon too. The Aiolos + Presty combo is devastating to stacking strikers already, the nerfs are just a big fuck you that will lead us back to Sharr/Shantiball which will always be the default esports state since they refuse to fix DI.

I don't really see a problem with pushing players that counter specific meta. The problem is they are build to counter it alone without the nerfing the character in question. Just look at Victoria, they nerfed whole reflex mechanics just to reduce her effect on mid without touching her. Or, in case of Virgil, they didn't follow his nerf though and didn't remove ATB recovery from healing skills. Both players are still heavily used and without decent alternative.

This game has high inertia, so unless devs nerf mechanics and players alike, it will take months to change and only if the new players are visibly better than the old one. This is caused by the prohibitive cost of leaving old, invested players behind and investing in new ones.
If the devs focused more on balance, number of skins and novelty players instead of constantly pushing players to counter current state this game would be in much healthier state.

I expect nothing less that BB giving EE to few forgotten players nobody cares about with very lazy buffs. Instead they will attempt to fix the fiasco from the last patch, but since this is BB, the most probable scenario is that they will have to rollback utility strikers again.

In theory it's fine to just introduce new units as tech choices to shake up the meta but you hit the nail on the head with their refusal to nerf the units that are at fault too.

If they want mono teams to take off they should consider taking a handful of units with broken passives and have them scale based on how many units of the same color are on the team with them. They could fix a lot of lackluster units that got nerfed this way and to keep a lot of cancer units in check.

Have Virgil restore spirit for every light player on the team instead of the # of players in line. You could even take nerfed units like Miho and restore them to their old values as long as their on a mono team. The rainbowfags can still min-max the perfect number of units needed for just the right amount of cancer and the mono players can have stronger passives to fight the rainbow cancer instead of just having more stats.

If they did this with only the meta cancer units that are on almost every team and let units like Shu remain the way they are on rainbow teams then we could see the meta shift in interesting ways. With Virgil nerfed we could see the teams using Victoria or Sharr actually adding units like Shu because they want the small boost he gives them on top of his utility, it's essentially a free totem added to his kit that allows him to help out select players without breaking him in PvE or making him cancer. Maybe we'd start seeing more team diversity at that point, they could even make the legends require only half of the team to be on color to reach their full potential as well to keep the rainbowfags happy and feel like their d stones weren't wasted. Maybe even add some new spirit stones that lower the number of on color players required at the cost of losing stats. You'd need 3 on color units then to make them as strong as they are now but their stats would be way worse compared to if you were using 5.

Scaling Burst, could be a nice idea. It could also be applied to the dual aces (for each color separately) to see if it works. As for equipping stones, I would like to see expansion of formation screen with more slots and persistent stones for each formation. I would like to experiment with different formations and combinations of stones and maybe I would like to adjust the formation to counter the opponent, but even with the cost removed, it would still be pain in the ass.
