Starting up my game now, in terms of main classes, should I choose Titan, Warlock or Hunter? I'm looking for he most damage potential.

I think warlocks have the highest DPS super for PvE. On sunsinger their super greatly reduces cool downs on abilities, and this stacked with max discipline, fusion grenades, touch of flame, and Viking funeral allows them to do a shitload of damage to a boss. That being said, you tend to see most people using Radiance to revive themselves in PVE and the damage job is placed on Defender titans with Weapons of Light on their bubble or hunters with their tether.

Everybody told me Destiny was a joke. A failed MMO, a dead game. I saw the Destiny Collection and scoffed, fifty dollars for a lame game? A failed game? A dead game.
I decided it was time to see what Destiny had to offer. I was expecting something mediocre.
I couldn't be more wrong, and I feel terribly for it.
It's been a little over two years since Destiny released to luke warm reviews and people still disregard the game as a failure.
I am here to tell you that my previous thoughts were wrong. Within the first few hours of gunning down the fallen I knew I was wrong. This is a fantastic video game and I regret that I disregarded it for so long.
I know this will probably not be seen, but I want to apologize to the developers and the players who have had to deal with any sort of stigma regarding this game.
I also want to thank EzioAuditore412 on the Xbox One for offering help with the main story within my first ten minutes on the game.
I can't wait to dive deeper into this video game, and see how powerful my guardian can get.

I still have a great roll on my Quillim's Terminus, so I'll hold on to that. Defender, and Nightstalker are pretty much tied if you're talking about team activities. For soloing, any class is great at PvE.

In any PvE activity, a skilled Defender can basically make himself and his team (barring them being extremely stupid) unkillable, and a well played Nightstalker will ensure his team always has their super. Which one is more useful depends on exactly what you're doing, but having both makes any PvE content much easier. You also get the added bonus of being actually respected by other players for being a total bro.

The last time me and Noobish raided with him, we were desperate for a 6th because ded game, but he literally brought No Land Beyond into the raid (primary bolt-action sniper rifle for those who don't know) and was using it the whole time at the Vosik P2 encounter. what, muh 3 second damage buff? compared to the grenade spam that does the same thing but lasts way longer? So what if they don't clear adds as well as a sunbreaker? You need add-clearing supers for like 1, maybe 2 spots in the raid, and having a damage buff that stacks with tether is awesome.
