I suck at executing moves. How do I become better?

Practicing doesn't help. I've literally put hours into practicing every single ever since Calamity Trigger, but I still suck. Only thing practicing does for me is give me sore thumbs and aching handmuscles. Yes, I practice until my hands can't move anymore because of muscles go weak. But I can't execute shit. My gameplay is random and to anyone playing me it appears as if I am just buttonmashing because non of the moves I try to do happen when I want them too. Even simple moves only happen 1 out of 6 times and you can forget the harder moves. No matter how hard I practice or for how long, my fingers just seem to sloppy.

So what am I doing wrong? Is there an actual method that allows your practice to actually bear fruit? I'll practice as hard as it takes but when I practice this much every day and I'm still no better then when I first started, I am doing something wrong. This is a serious post and not trolling. I am really this bad at it, so please give me some real advice. Thank you.

First a lot of the bad habits you have with the d-pad won't translate to the stick, so you can start off somewhat fresh. Just watch some tutorials and try to develop good habits when learning how to stick play, and your execution should get better.

After doing this I became better with the d-pad too, probably because the stick gave me a different perspective on timing and detection areas and such.

there's not enough to discuss about the story, not enough to speculate about as far as future plans go, not enough genuine interest in the game with the current state of its balance (remember that this is considered to be a worse game than CP was by most). mai and jubei posters aren't responsible for this.

I would agree with this, but part of why the general is dying is Blazblue itself. The games have always done a poor job of attracting a larger playerbase in the west, and those that it does attract tend to be autistic teenagers (hence the waifu fags).

It's a shame because the games are great, every sf/mvc/mk/whatever guy I get to try them ends up liking them. I don't how the community could grow itself but I hope something happens. I hate to see the BB in the sorry state it is now.

the chances for a revival are low. when people drop the game and move on it's hard to really get people back. king of fighters XIV's balance was in a horrible state which killed all interest immediately, a balance patch didn't save it afterwards. CF obviously needs one of those, but they would also have to make another move to spike interest (and all they have for that is the jubei meme).
