Imagine if, like, during a parallel to the accident between Gaster and Sans (and Papyrus ... ???), Frisk and Chara (in a single body, like usual) are greatly affected psychologically. Like, not only would the event be erased from their minds or at least blocked out, but somehow the concsiousness of both Frisk and Chara subconcsiously decide to just ... 'give up' or 'give in' or something, pretty much allowing themselves to become one single amnesiac human child with no memory of Chara's hatred for humanity or why Frisk or Chara climbed Mt. Ebott or even any memory of who Frisk or Chara was, and Asriel, Toriel, and Asgore decide to keep quiet on the whole thing and 'protect' the child from that information. The human would now be extremely happy and innocent, without any of the darkness of Frisk or Chara's experiences, and adopting the name "Togore" from TOriel and asGORE's name similar to their 'brother', ASgore and toRIEL.

I just need to figure out where the rest of Papyrus' role would factor in... specifically, the "Great" part. As in, Papyrus' exaggerated perception of his own coolness and greatness and stuff like that. But without making them a carbon copy of him.

Thoughts on Sans in Papyrus' role (because "Underswap" is just weird):

The way I imagine Sans if he was swapped with Papyrus, is basically just if Sans wasn't so massively affected by the Gaster accident and Flowey's resets. If Sans never gave up and lost himself in depression and apathy. And also if instead of being a scientist, he's with the RoyalGuard, I guess. With all that in mind, I'd imagine that Sans would be very energetic and willing to do work and do a lot of things, but above all else, his jokes and pranks would be cranked up to 11. His high-energy jokester attitude would 'mask' his incredible observation and analytical skills, and would give the impression that he isn't that smart (which is far from true). But he's not really using his jokes to hide depression at all. Instead, his jokes would possibly deflect something else... since Papyrus seems to always be hiding something and never talks about his own past or even himself actually.

He's not training to be in the Royal Guard or shooting for coolness and popular or anything like that. He's already in the Royal Guard, second-in-command, actually. And he's already super popular among the entire Underground because he's Sans, everyone knows who he is.

Sans, unlike Papyrus, would still be full capable of killing you, and still counts how many times you've died against him (but not 'as' direct and obvious that he knows). His clothes give him a boost in DEF and ATK, and he uses sleep to raise his HP above his max. He still dodges, though.

I'm also thinking that he should retain his space-time skills and awareness, but used in a more 'comedic' and 'cartoony' fashion than just a lazy quantam phycisist, so you'd think it's just played for laughs.
