Normally people have some sort of idea what they are doing in markets with their hard earned cash, even if they are a bit more panicky.

Eve markets (Jita in my experience) seems to be 10% know what they are doing, when to buy, when to sell, when to hold. 60% have a rough idea but are too slow/retarded/poor to capitalise at the right time, and the other 30% are braindead retards throwing money down a hole by buying and selling at THE WORST times, causing retarded spikes/crashes and losing themselves money.

Some people have so much money, as well as diversified and articulated orders. That is, they sell one item at a small loss in order to move other items that go with it, like t1 exploration hulls and all the t1 junk mods like probes, launchers, prop mods, scanners and salvagers.
That's why when you try to deal with someone .01 isking you, it's actually worth his time to grind you down into a stub because getting rid of you is better for him long term.
In quiet lowsec markets i've seen people just buy my stuff in bulk and haul it to the nearest hisec hub. So i can sell for lowest in region to attract traffic to shoot at, but if it's crazy low priced it gets bought up in one shot by some 'market pvper'.

Didn't do missions for a long time, but a year ago that was indeed the case.
The difference isn't that big, something like ~10-15% extra reward and bonus reward when running 0.5 over 1.0.
It definitely worked for isk rewards, but that was just extra 200k per mission which is essentially worthless. Unless you're maximizing isk/hr.
Not sure if it works for LP, but if I had to guess it does, so this is probably where the most value comes from.

For mission runners this is almost always the case. Coming back from a single lv4 mission you could have anywhere from 10 to 50 different items to dump and checking the market details on every single one would be a huge waste of time as you could probably run a whole other mission in the time it takes you to do that.
