Just bought and played first game for about half an hour. PC Enhanced edition.

Please tell me the combat gets better. It's so fucking bland and repetitive with no sense of depth whatsoever.

I bought 2 as well. If the combat is improved in 3, I'll get it for PS4. It looks good and I'm interested but if combat stays this like this, fuck it. I'll just play Bloodborne again.

TW1 has a very strange combat system, I also hated it at first, but you get the hang of it after some time. Try giving it a chance and see if the story captures your attention.

TW2 has a completely different combat system and TW3 is a refined version of TW2 combat.

There are many ways.

If you have card advantage, you can play her last and send the opponent's stronger card back to his hand.
You can use to send a spy to your hand.
You can use her to replay some cards.
If you opponent has only gold/relentless cards you can use her and gain card advantage.

She is bretty good once you understand how to use her.
She is much better than the 12 points Geralt imo.

There is no canon choice in the games. In the books Yen is of course canon and true canon end with the books. Games are an expanded universe that allows player choice and in them Triss was established as a viable option during the first two games.

I personally prefer Geralt's relationship with Triss as he seems happier with her and I really love the softer side of his personality he shows and how attentive and sweet he is with Triss.

Yen is also great in her own way, but I find her more fitting in the role of a fun ex wife.

The scene at KM is short but sweet(also skippable if you don't like it), talk with Ciri is nice and in Triss' romance case shows just how comfortable Geralt feels in a relationship with her. The talk on the boat is alright and the final scene with Triss absolutely beautiful. One of my instant favorites. all in all, I was extremely satisfied with the additions.
