Sledge: flexible operator with good guns and tools to fill almost any role your team needs.

Ash: fast as fuck, good guns and a decent gadget. You can do whatever with her and you'll be fine.

Thatcher: easy to use and a great support operator. Just stay close to Thermite/Hibana.

DEF
Rook: drop the armor bag and your job is done. Personally I think he's the most newcomer friendly operator.

Mute: decent guns and c4. Just put the jammers on reinforced walls or near drone holes. While it's not mandatory you can relocate your jammers around to annoy the attackers as much as possible.

Jager: good guns, fast as fuck and useful gadget. He's one of the best roamers in the game.

Avoid Tachanka and Blitz, they're not good for newcomers. There's also a guide in the OP for more info.

Next problem is that 14 out of my 18 siege friends are silver shitters who only got in plat because the ranks are shit this season. And playing with them against actual plats is suffering. You cannot carry 4 guys against 5 when you are a legit plat 2 yourself.

I'd advice you to not touch the DLC operators until you're at least past your first 10 hours or so.

This is because the DLC characters rely a lot more on game experience than the vanilla operators, and you will likely not be able to play them very well when you're barely starting out.

Once you feel comfortable to dip your toes into the water though, I'd recommend you try them all out since you have them unlocked anyway.

For aggressive attacking and flanking: Buck

For crucial angle holding: Blackbeard
For godlike intel capabilities for you and your team: Valkyrie

For operators with two pistols, do you prefer the low damage high capacity or high damage low capacity? I can see pros and cons for both. In a game where head shot is king spamming bullets down range can increase your chance of getting that head shot. But if all your shots hit the high damage is good also. That's because it's a hugely exaggerated issue, the real reason it's supposed to be easier to peek than be peeked is because the peeker can react faster because he expects there to be someone where he's looking, while the person standing still isn't sure when the other person is going to peek and can be surprised. I first thought about this when pros were complaining that there was still peeker's advantage at lan, and I noticed that I don't get rekt as much as I used to when I first started playing while standing still because good gamesense lets you know when someone is going to peek you. Of course there's still nothing you can do against prefires, or Ash sprinting around the map at VERY fast speed with her tiny hitbox.

I think peeker's advantage is almost entirely down to human reaction time and the element of surprise.

I've met people from kuwait and poland, from Italy and norway and sweden, and they all politely speak english most of the time, Russians and frenchies sometimes don't bother with english but I do meet quite a few who will speak english if you ask them too. Nigga when you're talking to someone directly you give him direct directions according to him. You say "to your right" or if there are multiple options "on the / in the X to your right"

HOWEVER if you are giving general directions to your whole team, then you use cardinals. Example: You are defender on plane and you see the attackers come from the tail end. then you say "Attackers, west side"
