It was actually a lot harder. Bosses required strategy, but after EoC they got arbitrarily nerfed to hell. They just need to crank up their stats to the point where their unique mechanics actually matter. Who knows, maybe with the dungeoneering "finale" we might get either some balance changes (unlikely), or a new harder difficulty/game mode. The "hard mode" we have now doesn't really fix the problem, and there's practically no point in doing it except for unlocking a title or some bullshit.

We need some kind of hardmode where if you die you're kicked out of the dungeon, monsters are more dangerous, but the rewards are massively increased or maybe even give a new kind of currency.

My friends and I played together and we didn't use guides, so every few floors meant discovering a new boss or a chance to figure out the mechanics on a familiar one.

I haven't touched RuneScape since early 2014, and before that hadn't played in 5 years. When I came back in 2014 a lot had changed gameplay and graphics wise.
My question is what changes have been made to playability and interface since '14?
I'm thinking of playing again, but just wondered what I might find different besides just new quests and such.

Kree'arra gives 2934 slayer exp on kill.
Flight Kilisa gives 363, Wingman Skree gives 363, and Flockleader gives, you guessed it, 363.

That's 4,023 slayer exp per kill. If you get into a rhythm you can start Kree'Arra with Deaths Swiftness and have his next respawn be just as Death's Swiftness' 1 minute cooldown comes off.

Accounting for mistakes and you being a shitter, that's 55 Kree's an hour. That's over 220k slayer exp in an hour. There are not a lot of tasks that beat that.

Just done 4 hours of K'ril and only had 2 godsword shards... fucking kill me.

You can hit that on-task because of AoE abilities.

Adamants are fairly spread out and attack from a distance so you can't really clump them up to use AoE on them.

In my experience most people can rarely break 120k DPM on a single target, and that's trying their best.

For what it's worth, I'm glad the only times I have to bust out my blood rune stack are when I'm killing Muspahs or am doing tryhard content like Sliske or Rush of Blood, as opposed to every time I'm in mage combat.

I know a few years ago there was a serious problem with pure essence from daily challenges. Since runespan had came out, nobody was using pure essence so daily challenges putting so much into the game dropped their price. To make matters worse, as the value of pure essence dropped the number of them flooding the game increased as the amount of pure essence that dailys gave you was xgp worth of pess, not x amount of pess.
