Tyra's shit if she's in range of Makoa's chain or the enemy team has an even half-way competent flanker or two.
However, if she's backed up by, say, a Cassie, she becomes a goddamn monster.
Her recoil is fuckawful, her cooldown times are atrocious (especially considering that firebomb's radius is actually SMALLER than the graphics would suggest, albeit only slightly), and the bullet spread makes hitting anything past a certain point impossible if you want to fire more than one bullet at a time.
Also, you could dump an entire magazine (26 rounds) into a Ying and she'd still walk away from that. Even with Hunter's Mark she survives with a tiny sliver which is more than enough to fuck you up on the reload. Which, might I add, is weirdly slow for someone just popping magazines. If anything, her base reload speed should be comparable to Vik's. I know there are cards to boost it, but those require you to be close enough to a fight to actually HIT someone so they take effect.
She's definitely newbie-bait.

She seems to be great at chasing targets from the side and pin down that kill, but her point pressure is completely awful. His flame is intentionally weak because you're not supposed to be solo killing with him. My main use for the lance is to either initiate an attack or finish off someone that's trying to escape. If I catch myself getting solo kills or dealing damage for most of an enemy's health that's usually a good sign that the damage dealers on my team are slacking. I'm sure there's ways to better focus on doing damage with his lance (been meaning to test out Pyre), but my preferred playstyle is just using it to put people in bad positions.

Why do I keep getting matched up with fucking useless teams in COMPETITIVE mode? Every time I play I'm putting 100% into my games because I actually want to win instead of jerking off in spawn and whenever I die(because I'm the only player on the fucking point) I see our damage or flank struggling to aim on an AFK tank, or our healer fucking rushing into battle against 3 enemies. If the absolute retards that I have to fight with are what make up the Paladins community, I might actually buy OW just so I can actually fucking play with DECENT players, even if they're SJW casual faggots.
What makes me even fucking madder is that apparently, no matter what, if the game is a loss, you lose elo. So because I'm the only player on the team babysitting 6 year olds, I have to be kept with them even though I consistently carry my teams.
But then, when I can get a team that's actually competent, the game lasts 5 minutes with a total pound by us, and it's back into queue. Fuck this game.

I feel like Grover's damage was secretly nerfed. Yes, they buffed his base damage, but an enemy has to be way farther away now to get the 1200. To the point where the axe just disappears most of the time.
