I borrowed a gamepad from my friend and installed Dark Souls. And holy shit those controls and that fucking camera.

The way you turn your camera with right analog stick is retarded. You don't have even 1% of control you have with mouse in any first/third person game on PC.
You run and roll with the same button. It means that roll doesn't register until you release the button. You can easily fuck up your roll just because you pressed the button to hard and didn't release it in time. Roll is the main fucking action in the game and it's gimped because gamepads don't have enough buttons. Oh, and while you're running you can't even roll because jump is on the very same button.
RT/LT are delayed too, because they don't register as soon as you start moving them, but when they are ~50% down.
To chose an item you need to cycle them with d-pad. Once again gamepads just don't have enough buttons so you can't bind them on 1/2/3/4 (or F1/F2/F3/F4) like on keyboard. Oh and while you're switching your items you can't even run, because it occupies the same finger.

Gamepads were fine in NES era when jump and attack were the only actions you can do. Why are they not dead nowadays?

Well I did it, cleared all of DaS2 with a Whip.

I'm surprised at how little they suck in this game compared to 1, it wasn't even that bad for most of the game. Infact if the Old Whip was actually fucking useable the damage would have made it a hell of a lot easier than a Raw Bloodied Whip.

What exactly is it that makes the Old Whip break so easily? It has decent enough durability and they fixed the durability bug ages ago.

Whips have a few attacks that have long active frames. If an enemy dies, it continues to drain durability during its death animation. As a result, everything you kill with the old whip essentially drains durability as it dies.

Old Whip is garbage because again, it seems to be the only whip that breaks to a gentle breeze. The best whip is The Bloodied Whip from the guys in Huntsman's Cospe, it has the highest damage aside from Old Whip, more poise damage (which is actually important with how slow the whip attacks are) and more range.

It's super fucking rare though, I had to farm for two hours in CoC (and ended up with almost 100 CREO) to get one to drop.

I have a problem. I would like to remap my Xbox controller, more precisely I would like to switch the block and the parry button.

I try to use x360ce but it is not working because dsfix overrides DINPUT8.dll

As far as I know DINPUT8.dll is responsible for injecting dsfix in the first place so probably there is no solution for using dsfix and x360ce at the same time. Or is there?

And for some reason DS stop reacting any inpot from my controller if I use dsmfix. I can only use mouse OR only use controller...

Honestly, I think it just depends on your preference and/or your build.
When infused, you're sorta missing out on the 100% phys damage reduction, but not by a huge margin.
You get a bit more damage when infused with dark lets say, but if you have RoB, you get only half the bonus damage, and RoB is pretty useful, cause it gives you double the value (because you're powerstancing, duh). Split damage means though that you'll deal less damage against targets with elemental resistances.
Update: just tested this on the arena because I had spare dark stones/pale stones left and I reload my saves like a little bitch anyways and honestly the damage difference is kind of hard to notice. It's kind of hard to indentify as well because these things deal a quite random amount of damage at times, although it seems that the amount of damage dealt on dark-infused shields is slightly higher than on uninfused ones.

As I said, it's really hard to measure the amount of damage OrmaReeves do because of how inconsisntent it is. Depending on how far your opponent is, counter damage and the amount of hair on Tanimura's jjap ass it can deal from 600 to 890 damage per hit.
