Put having Papyrus give his dying breaths of still believing in you, Asriel's entire dialogue leading up to Sans, and then Sans's desperate resistance to you on top of the logical end place for Undyne's character really is the best emotionally moments for those particular characters.

You can headcanon the Asgore stuff away just as easily as the Toriel stuff if you really want to try and pull that card. Also saying no to tea and not wanting to work for him isn't really being mean either

Flowey / Asriel is probably the character you interact with the most in the game through both Pacifist and Genocide as well as being the most important character to the plot. How is he not a main character (no appearing on promotional art doesn't count because Flowey appears on a shit load of it and Asriel couldn't for plot reasons)
