Nudity if its from a normal anime was always fine. But some mod decided it wasn't and started deleting and banning for it. It was particulary bad in the valkyrie drive threads. To the point Hiro had to intervene.

I have an issue, perhaps you guys can help.
I made a system reboot on my computer while keeping the files. Everything windows was rewritten, but my files were kept, including my AA2 install.
When I try to run the game now, it gives me an error saying the game isn't installed. Definitely because it's missing from the windows registry. Is there a quick fix for this? Or could someone tell me which directory of the registry the installer writes to, so I can manually add it?

Thanks for the pointer. I just downloaded the thing and I have no idea if it works or not. The dropdown menu has Ilusion Games and Download Profiles, and nothing else. I can't select a game from that list, there aren't any.

How would I go about nuking this game from my computer and going for a clean reinstall? But what I am seeing is that you did not add the maker too the list you only have Aa2play, so make a new profile and do the same thing with the maker and it should work.

Oh and I just relised what your problem might be as well. You probably are using a different launcher than "AA2Play" that could be the problem. You need to hook it to the launcher that you are using for the subs.

I do my snowflakes composite. Spit out the character model and BG using the editor, but rest is photoshop. You can do pure photoshop too.
You just need a card face replacer. If you photoshop a card without using a face replacer, you'll destroy the data required for the card to work. Don't know where I got that card face replacer program, though. Maybe dongfire.

Yes. You can't edit the card directly in photoshop though, you'd lose the card data. You need to replace the card face with a card editor like AA2Snowflake or the Card Editor for Custom Backgrounds from the pastebin.

hi /aa2g/, found a little something and thought i'd share it here.
So, apparently both aa2play and aa2edit sometimes just wont fucking start up for some time. FAQ image suggests to close the browser, which for some reason actually works. I recently had that bug again and thought I'd take a look where its coming from.
Bug can be seen in picture related. Basically some dude made a BYTE stackbuffer[512] array on stack to store the window title as part of the EnumWndProc of a EnumWindows call, then proceeded to call GetWindowTextW(hwnd, stackbuffer, 512). Obviously its gonna cause stack corruption if it stumbles across a window with 256 letters or more in the title, which i assume is commonly done by browsers as they put the websites name in the title. They also cpynpasted the very same function with the very same bug into the maker. Here's a quick way to fix it:
- back up your exes, just in case something breaks
- open maker and play in a hex editor
- search for the code. try to search for
"68 00 02 00 00 8D 54 24 0C 52 56 FF" (after the FF its not always the same anymore for some reason, i never understood that). It should only be there once in each exe. Mine were at 0x590E (play) and 0x541E (maker), respectively
- change the 02 to 01 like this:

this makes him push 256 instead of 512 to the GetWindowTextW call, effectivley telling the function the actual size of the buffer

Its using GetWindowTextW (moonrune compatibility and stuff), so each character is 2 bytes wide. a 256 letter title takes 256 wchars = 512 bytes. With a buffer of 512 bytes, 256 letters will cause an overflow (cause null termination, so its 257*2 = 514 bytes). Since they have 512 as the parameter to the GetWindowTextW function, it thinks the buffer is 512 wchars wide (1024 bytes), and not 256 wchars (512 bytes).
