Reminder for newfriends who don't know how to read wikis:

Guardian has the pawn stand next to you and only really attacks when you get attacked then goes back to doing nothing, Nexus is basically the same but for other pawns. That's why they're bad, they conflict with each other and even on their own they don't do anything useful.
Scather promotes targeting the strongest enemy first, increases likelyhood of climbing and close range fighting.
Medicant is obvious, focuses on healing and avoiding direct combat.
Mitigator targets weak enemies first, spellcasters will use spells with bigger AoEs more often. Basically crowd control.
Challenger focuses on troublesome enemies like ranged attackers or magick users first, prioritizes ranged attacks if you have them.
Pioneer is also obvious, has your pawn move ahead of you and scout.
Acquisitor is useless as pawns grab shit anyways when out of combat, this just makes them disengage to grab loot they see instantly.
Utilitarian is a sort of wildcard, it prioritizes the pawn's known tactics and enemy knowledge, skills, etc. Also encourages grappling as a fighter/warrior, buffing as a Mage and spell synching as a sorcerer.

So the 'trick' to having a succesful pawn, aside from inclinations, is to have the fewest skills equipped ?

I have a mage pawn like everyone else ( I imagine ) and I already equipped all 6 slots.
The problem is that all of them seem useful.
But I know if she gets rented maybe she wont be very useful.
she has : high ingle, high levin, fire buff
heal , halidom, grapnel

she does use everything, but for example when fighting a cyclop she will use both ingle and levin even though she already acknowledged multiple times that lightning was efficient against them.

Sounds aughtistic I know but I'm having a hard time relaxxing and playing the game, too worried about pawn's stuff.

You have curatives for that. Mage healing doesn't scale well at all. Sorc is pretty much a direct upgrade the further into the game you go.

And pawns can't be assassins, mystic knights or Magick Archers

Get the Prescience aug from Fighter, the +20% Str aug from Warrior and the +20% mag aug from Sorcerer, would be considered the essentials. Otherwise just read up on all the augments and see which others you like. Don't focus too much on blue or red stats, go balanced.

Mage isn't really a class for Arisens to play as, since its more focused on support stuff. If you want to play some magic user and do damage, you should just play sorcerer. Utilitarian/Medicant will be a good way to go with her. Stick with Mage for a while to get good augments before switching to Sorcerer, and watch her behaviour as you're levelling mage until your content with it.

You'll need good Fighter tanks from the rift to keep aggro off you. Scather/Utilitarian is best set for Fighters... Scathers get out in front of you and fight shit, Utilitarians are better about using aggro management abilities. If you find a smart tank, stick with him even if he's a bit underleveled. A few levels don't make that much difference.

As a general rule you probably want Articulacy from the Sorcerer class, and stuff like Leg-Strength and Sinew from other classes as a general aid. What's more, equipment for MAs is really lacking early on.

So basically with the class system you should learn other vocations with the mind of eventually settling on MA and being better equipped when you get there.

As for stats, MA is fine all the way to 100, has perfectly decent Magick even if it's not "the best" and any shortcomings in stats are very much overshadowed by the stuff you're wearing.

Play how you want, but be smart about it. No point diving into MA and being really shitty early on when you can spend that time learning Sorceror stuff.
