DUELYST is a competitive strategy card game focused on tactical combat, squad building, and ranked ladder play.
>Play in Chrome
>Faction overview, guides and general information
Are these two guys worth keeping or should I DE them?
Also how is Songhai fair? Whenever I play against them I get burst for 20 damage.
Egyptian space waifu confirmed for unit, not general
Still no answer to keeper.
and i'm guessing actual balance changes only happen at the end of the month then
I'm guessing it's probably the Blast animation since there's already one for Vet attacking
That animation looks really good. Looks like she lacks like.
This one also looks great in regards to the colours. A shame it's Lyonar, though. The floating gauntlets are cool.
nothin personnel songoloid edge shit
What's the claw he points with? I'm not sure if he's holding a giant knife or the Staff of Y'kir, either.
This one looks pretty great. Not edgey or autistic like the furry legend. Hoping it'll come soon.
Vet commander has a jack going out of his palm I assume that's it regarding the claw. Staff of Y\kir looks a bit different on the spell so I assume this is the regular weapon or somesuch.
Looks damn cool tho.
they recently released a couple bullshit rng minions, all of them unplayable except for jaxi and keeper of the vale, both of which will undoubtedly be nerfed/ have their rng removed
>little to none
That card is worst than keeper. Way fucking worst.
I doubt that jaxi will get nerfed, purely because there wasn't an uproar about it in the forums even if it's the exact same shit, maybe even worst. For me next patch will decide if I keep playing this game or just uninstall. I have tons of vidya to play after all
>no nerfs on meme fox
>no nerfs on meme boar
>no nerfs on songay at all
>ne buffs on abshittyan
some shitty practice AI instead
Geez, thanks developers!
Unless you luck out and are able to kill both. My personal issues with them is their capability to obilterate you with no input from you. Like putting on 3 Masks and just casting anything, and i mean ANYTHING and murdering you.
How many years of life have you gone trough? Just die.
Seriously, you sound like a retard, we want to post here, not our fault thread is slow.
Speaking of last thread, still working on those drawings that people asked for.
>If your account was made before January 3rd of this month, you can claim a gift orb of a Spirit Orb, spirit, and an exclusive festive Snowchaser emote
Do you have to buy something to get this stuff?
>Boot the game back up in forever
>Pull out my budget Lyonar deck
>15 minute matches of just me stalling the shit out until I can DB my Ironcliffe or get lots of explosive heals
Just need to wait for the day when mill decks become possible and I'll be in heaven.
"Mill is a term used to describe the act of putting cards from a deck into the graveyard. This attempts at trying to win a duel by causing your opponent to be unable to draw cards."
Yeah, no. Definitely not possible here, at least not with the current range of cards. The opponent will just drop a bunch of heavier stuff and eventually outlast your heals/controls, or just OTK with meme fox regardless of your health.
The best way I can think of buffing your general to outlast is via Grandmaster Z'ir, but you can't infinitely buff. If Divine Bond gets reworked to fuse two minions, you could try fusing it with an Owlbeast, but I'm just going off in a shitty hypothetical here that would barely work out even if the cards existed to make it possible..
Yeah, it's a perfect loop, which we don't have in this game as far as I know.
I mean, Keeper came close, but I've been thinking about possible loops and nothing comes to mind.
Once we have one (if we have one), then "milling" will be possible, if I understand the phrase right.
To elaborate: in most card games you instantly lose the game if you attempt to draw from an empty deck (there's some amount of variation to this rule including simply running out of cards in your deck makes you lose, or losing on the draw step when you have no cards in deck). You lose. Game ends. There's no playing on with what you've got in hand or just taking damage whenever you try drawing with no cards in deck.
Mil decks are decks are those which aim to win via forcing you to lose on this rule. "Decking them out." Some do this by forcing the opposing player to draw. However, the actual act of "milling" refers to what the original Milstone did: discard the top card of your opponent's deck. For YGOfriends, think Empty Jar. Or Lightsworn for self-mil.
The only possible example of this in Duelyst would be Magmar's Mind Steal and Abyssian's Reaper of the Nine Moons. Neither of which I'm certain actually remove the cards from your deck. Even if they did it's arguable whether this counts as milling or not.
Other than the originator which spawned the term which focused on grinding out the opponent slowly but surely (much like HS "mil"/fatigue decks) mil decks are traditionally combo decks. I believe Magic's standard format had some form of draw loop in their meta recently but for a good example look at the Grindstone + Painter's Servant combo.
Sorry if a lot of this is rambly and incoherent, playing Granblue in the background.
>there are like 10 different mobile games generals on /vg/
people like you are the reason this general dies so fast
Yes but what does that have to do with anything?
Someone was apparently misunderstanding what milling was. I explain milling in-depth. Then I excuse any inconsistencies in my writing with another game as an aside.
This kills the general now? Did you read my post? Do you think milling is a mobage mechanic?
because degenerate mobile games players like yourself spam a gorillion threads a day with waifu trashposting for cancerous lottery games with cute animeme grills
you offtopic mentioned granblue you triple nigger
So by contributing to this thread instead of one of those I'm killing this thread now
Vanar is the last faction we're getting until post-release according to devs. So just more cards. Which we're in dire need of.
I used this to get to S this season. Though I ended up needing to swap out a Chaos Elemental for another Crossbones because I kept running into mechs.
You can probably swap out the Sarlacs and Maelstroms for other shit if you don't have them. Howler works fine for Sarlac. Saberspines are good too
POST s RANK DECKS
>Trump just confirmed that he's been offered cash to play Duelyst on stream
>He implied that Amaz was offered such a deal too
>Amaz's stream doesn't openly say he's being paid by the company to play their game
Uh, yeah, sort of?
The closest thing to milling in this game is the damage you take with an empty deck - akin to a Recycle Leppa causing a Struggle ending.
That said, that's the only type of "milling" that can occur in this game.
I also thought of Lightchaser + Sunmaiden, and Hailstone + Alcuin, but the former is easily dispelled and the latter doesn't produce anything.
Storm Kage is actually a better example of that, though, but it as you said, it's ineffective at damaging the general, as well as any burst/rush damage.
What they were talking about were mill decks, but those will never be possible unless they involve outlasting forever.
For that to become possible, they either need a looping general-based heal, or a card that adds cards to their DECK and a way to replicate that card's effect.
If they reworked Keeper so it put all dead minions back in your deck, then outlasting your opponent's deck would be possible.
Is this a surprise to anyone?
This is a good thing to me, anyways. About time counterplay start actually marketing.
Too bad it's at a time when the game's at its worst. Jaxi and Keepers everywhere.
No, see, you're still misunderstanding. Storm Kage is in no way mil. Infinite loops aren't mil in any way. Kage doesn't do anything for mil other than fill your hand so you can't draw I guess. In that sense I guess it's good in TOD/Fatigue decks but it doesn't do any direct milling or even forcing draws.
A mil deck is going to be looking to actively thin your opponent's deck. Either by forcing them to draw or by discarding their deck. Normally the latter as you don't really want to afford your opponent extra hand advantage in most situations but in Duelyst they'd just be discarded instantly anyways.
Hailstone isn't mil as much as it is a strong punish to full hands.
I'm not the same person you were talking with earlier; I just elaborated on the concept of milling.
God I love Magic cards. There is so much ungodly bullshit that can happen. It's frustrating as hell, but also fun to see how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Reminds me of the first time I lost to a deck with no creatures.
If wizards of the coast finally got out of their asses and started making a good magic online game they would be swimming in money. Instead we have to survive playing games like this which are basically based in boring ass hearthstone.
True, but I have to say I actually like Duelyst, it has some neat ideas. not to mention it already feels like it has more soul than Goystone, and it actually isn't harmed by it's simplicity.
There WERE some good cardgames that didn't follow the norm, like Infinity Wars, but they universaly didn't advertize and eventually just... Disintegrated I guess.
Eh I think there's a big problem in that you can't translate games like this away from the kitchen table too well. You need to give time to respond to instants and that timer makes the online variants feel like such a chore to play. In real life you can just smack the card down on the table.
I actually prefer Force of Will because I hate lands
Holy shit, mentioning this and it seems like Infinity Wars is actually alive, devs are talking again after like, 3 months of nothing.
if anyone wants something more like MtG over Heartstone, they should check it out!
Of course you can't compare ti with this game, but I figure some of you might be interested in dealing with other types of bullshit and
>Force of Will
Always the same problem with this types of games. If I knew someone who was interested I would love to play it. Sadly I live in a shitty euro country with no connections and nothing interesting going on. Shit, I would recieve even a fucking furry con with open arms at this point
Yeah it's the struggle of trying to find a scene to play shit. I'm pretty fortunate that my LGS is pretty diverse. I've got friends elsewhere that say all they do is Magic and Yugioh at their locals.
Eh, Cryaotic's playstyle is kind of atrocious. He lost to a 2x divine bonded High Hand when he could've easily won if he just moved himself out of its range, and there are a bunch of other instances where he just overlooks better moves.
Clearly new-ish, but it's still nice to see another streamer playing the game.
i doubt infinity wars will ever actually go anywhere with the devs it has
wish i could have played more of that cancerous triple verore shit and play a boardwipe every other turn
Wait, why can't you? 3 Verore has no actual counter other than mill decks or other 3 Verore.
Also I know what you mean, like I said, I expected the game to be dead (mostly because some faggot on the design council was spreading news how Lightmare was going to stop work on it), they just released some new info today, so I guess there is hope yet.
Shit's fun, in a completely different way.
On topic of Duelyst tho, any high level (so above gold) people playing vs Lyonar, what's the status on Arclyte Regalia? To me it looks look to be easily the most busted artefact once you stack 2 on.
i stopped playing when it was apparent the devs didn't care so i could never play it outside of the weekly free version
who leaves a free weekly deck unusable for months?
>they just released some new info today,
all i see is the 17 day old announcement that says "we aren't dead we swear!"
Regalia is really good, but not as powerful and holy. Stacking them sucks imo because it only blocks damage from the first hit it recieves, so you are losing stacks anyways most of the time after blocking that jaxi hit. It's also very high price, so yeah. Good, but not amazing. Can shut down rush factions that mostly focus on damaging you like songhai and face abyss, but lyonar is already good at that without regalia.
anythign i should change? i got to S rank last month with this
i have 190 spirit and can probably disenchant 1-2 legendaries
Nova is a piece of shit in general, more so in your deck. Change for rejuvenator because jesus loves heals. Add a revenant somewhere, and primus fists if you feel like it for the forgers. Too may dark seeds and alcuins too, cut two down for twilights cause them magics son.
guessing that list is obsolete and i want to end up using something like this instead?
Yeah, he kind of chose a weird way of doing things. Vanar is a weird faction to start on, and he didn't exactly build an amazing deck.
Still, Lyonar are annoying to play against when you're starting, so I can't complain there.
You should change faction. Too many songhai and lyonar in ladder and they faceroll abyssian. Also your deck quality is subpar to even have a reliable 50% winrate - manaforgers and novas are slow to utilize, silhouette tracer is just an odd piece, saberspines are subpar to sustain bigger dps than your opponents, only 2 spectral baldes, no sorcs to duplicate core spells. Your decks need a lot of work. Either gather more spirit to craft the missing cards (and revenants) or enjoy grinding for 2 weeks
i was trying to make this thing
it usually wins vs songhai unless its double tusk boars turn 1 or lantern fox bullshit
it does feel like its stuck between 2 different decks without the rite of the undervault
I don't see anyone playing mechaz0r here
Got to S rank a few days back with my magmar mechaz0r; it really got hit hard by the magmar nerfs but it's still pretty decent
Uh, maybe basic/common cards. Helm of Mechaz0r isn't bad at all, and the same goes for Planar Scout.
I don't think it needs a buff, but I do agree that even if it did receive one it would still be weaker than Songhai (18 damage in comparison to 26. If you used Lady Locke, you would still get 18 damage).
Worth noting that it's magnitudes better than HS's drop rates. The trade-off is you'll need more copies and deck sizes are larger but it's no contest in terms of ease of entry.
Of course HS also has, what? 3 campaigns you have to buy into now too? Even in beta days, though, this would be easier to get into.
I fucking hate mana tiles.
I don't get the point of them. They basically ensure that if you can't play a minion in the first turn you are fucked and won't recover. It's even worst as the second player because you must put a minion in that position or else the enemy will get two tiles and you will lose instantly.
I guess the point is to focus the battle on the middle of the map, stopping defensive decks from becoming too strong. Like, we'd see many, many more ranged/blast/direct damage decks if not for them
Not really. Basically in the game Legendaries are easy to get. You will find that most other factions also have mandatory bullshit cards of Epic of Legendary quality (Songhai with their fucking boars for instance, or Magmar and Metamorphosis). It just breaks on Vet to have more crucial ones.
>Spent millions of spirit building a songhai deck
>Cards won't come
>Losing streak, getting tired of the game and how bad I am
>Make a shitty half baked mechavanar deck
>Fucking everyone up in diamond
Thank you mechaz0r for restoring my faith in this game and myself.
Well, I used to play vet too but now I dislike the new playstyle with the blast third wish. I think I made a little rant here one day complaining like the bitch that I am. I should just disenchant the faction but I can't bring myself to do it
That's songhai for you. Really good when you win, useless when you get bullshit that makes no sense like a mask of shadows, two gorehorns, a saberspine seal and a killing edge in your hand. If you get something like this you are probably fucked.
>mfw I just found out Grailmaster effects stack
Yeah I feel like I end up replying to you a lot.
If you're really that against it you should talk about it on the forums. Devs aren't going to be coming here for feedback anytime soon.
I'd consider it but I'm not sure what I'm looking out of Vet is the same as everyone else. I got into them because they seemed like a spell-slinging blue control deck with a great aesthetic. I definitely don't like that they're basically a white aura deck at this point. Cosmic Flesh got bumped up into useful territory and Third Wish is just plain crucial to Vet's gameplan. On top of First Wish being a useful cantrip it's just a buff faction now which is disappointing.
Who knows maybe I'm not alone. I saw Amaz picked up Vet. He saw Dominate Will and went for it, I'd imagine. I saw Time Maelstrom and knew it was the faction for me. I just want some blue control.
Either way if anyone wants results the forums are where you gotta go to.
What we know about them is that they're new units, yes. Apparently they'll have some new keyword associated with them and apparently it'll have something to do with the symbols on their cannons.
And yes Vet always gets the best waifus.
>the forums are where you gotta go to
They ignored the whole keeper thing without giving an answer, like we are going to forget that shit even if it's there in every game. They won't change shit m8.
They're at least aware of the complaint. They can't do shit if they're not aware.
And patches were said to be monthly now they were never going to do shit to Keeper until next season no matter how big of a fuckup it was.
Again, you didn't see other TCG's. Songay have the fatal weakness of low board presence (unless they put out Boars, but fuck that card generally) to trade for their other bullshit. If you ask a Songay, he is probably going to tell you ALL about how bullshit Wind Howler/Mechaz0r decks are.
And just so we are are clear I don't like Songai generally. Their aesthetic are kinda cool, but not cool enough for me. Vanar are the only ones I like less personally. But even Vanar seems honest after playing Hearthstone and being dicked by Blizzard for a year (I was playing Warr)
>If you ask a Songay, he is probably going to tell you ALL about how bullshit Wind Howler/Mechaz0r decks are.
And then tell you how he just played his way around it by dealing 26 damage to the enemy general in one turn. Even a Vanaz0r deck can only do 20 damage on demand (helm + razorback + spirit of the wild + 2 extra damage if you can attack with your general) with the best positioning possible, but Songhai just fucking ignores the boards and shits on anyone no matter what.
Seriously, Songhai should either get a serious overhaul or be removed.
Hmm. I don't do a lot of Gauntlet, but one or two probably wouldn't be awful if the other options are equally mediocre. The issue is that they're really easy to take down even without dispel, so I'd try to either play it early on or not at all.
I personally wouldn't pick them, but maybe they'll last more than usual. I don't know.
HS is still the best in its category of "easy to play, toilet card games."
Duelyst is a better put together game with more strategic elements, and more cards that allow for huge swings in either direction.
hey guys help me with this image, i know it has potential
how do you play around Songhai?
they just run away the whole game, dropping minions out of reach, killing your minions from across the board
it's like the faction can completely ignore board position
Personally I REALLY like playing Vet against them. 3rd Wish Sand Howlers are a Songay's worst nightmare, especially with Cosmic Flesh.
Also if he's a cheeky cunt and decides to Pando your minions he pretty much autoloses if you get in rage of him and Cosmic Flesh it.
it's extremely rare for decimate to be useful, especially in arena where you won't see mechazor and you have no way to guarantee support cards for decimate(repulsor beasts for example).
i don't want a 4 mana card that will kill one creature and is playable only on turn out of 10.
>Have budget Vet deck that I really like but is kinda meh
>Play against Songhai, ohboyherewego.jpg
>Opponent plays out his turns almost instantly, brings me down to 7hp with ease
>Pandos my Jaxi
>draw my single third wish
>PANDO BLAST TIME
>Songhai turns are suddenly much much longer
>PANDO COSMIC FLESH MOTHERFUCKER
I'm only two weeks into the game but oh boy, do I have found my favourite faction.
I've always understood it as 'the enemy has to react to you, instead of you reacting to him. So, let's play you play a 5-mana minion, the enemy removes it with a 2-mana hailstone and plays a fenrir, then that hailstone gained hima lot of tempo. Tempo decks would then be those that aim to gain control of the board and pressurize the enemy as cheaply as possible.
when i first started the game i got like 3-4 legendaries the first week.
so did my friend.
now in the last months i opened a pack every other day and got 0 legendaries...
does anyone else have similar experiences? do you think is possible for the devs to have coded an increased in legendary drops for beginners to make the game more attractive?
as a wannable game developer i would totally do it
>what does tempo mean
italian for time. it freaks me out seeing italian words used by englishmen. As italian culture is frequently exported in comedy, lyric, music, cuisine, i can see tempo referring to the rhythm/measure frequency in musical performances.
>Every game with rng drops has people convinced that there's some kind of manipulation going on
in this occasion both me and my friend had great luck in the first week.
and it also make a lot of sense in Duelyst economic model an commercial position.
in fact it is even an acceptable move gameplay-wise
Well then make a few dozen accounts, play the starter quests and whatever else you can do to get quick boosters, and write down your results so that we have some data that isn't biased
I imagine people are using tempo as a synonym from rhythm. It's only 5 letters rather than 6, and people are less likely to misspell the former than the latter. It makes more sense if you think of it that way.
That's too much work, but I agree with him. When I started I got a lego every three patches at best. Now if I get an epic it's a fucking miracle. In fact it's been like three days with 4 commons and one rare.
Depends on how many Vanar you're facing in ladder. Magmar's Mana Burn is now Vanar's Chromatic cold, which coupled with their value minions and the new retarded Keeper of the Vale is just a perfect storm of faggotry.
Yes. With songhai being able to burst you down regardless of board state and the constant inclusion of RNG being shoved into the game makes duelyst HS 2.0. Also devs doesn't even address these issues while the forums are burning up with them. They are literally playing the piloted shredder approach where they sweep it under the rug and say it's the community's problem and that they have to play around it.
>They are literally playing the piloted shredder approach where they sweep it under the rug and say it's the community's problem and that they have to play around it.
But anon, they haven't said anything at all to the topic
>Increasing the randomness can increase the skill. Crackle isn't as obviously manipulable as Knife Juggler but the question remains when do I play it and do I risk playing it on something with more then 3 health? Do I have a backup if it doesn't work out? I think it represents intense skill and just feels bad when you lose. We can make it feel better or worse but I think it adds additional skill to the game.
This is pretty much the indirect "fuck you, we are not going to change shredder" response.
Note that GvG came out dec 2014 while that response came in at sept 2015.
Here. Had to take a pic with my phone.
Post YFW Infinity Wars makes a return and blows this songhaifest out of the water
Verore are not meta atm, it's all about seeing who can rush the fastest (which means most DoD natural victims are seeing play, fantastic for me).
I love both and intend to play both, you can't really compare the games.
>the game lacks content to talk about it beyond shitting on songhai
Then let's shit on Songhai some more
FUCK EVERY SINGLE SONGHAI PLAYER SIDEWAYS WHAT KIND OF FAILED PROTOHUMAN FAGGOT PLAYS THIS SHIT. THEY NULLIFY POSITIONING AND SHIT OUT DAMAGE FROM NO BOARD STATE EASIER THAN THEIR DAD STICKS HIS COCK IN THEIR ASS
Mask of shadows doesn't work for shit, must be the most overrated card in the game. Ciclone is pretty much the same but worst, and they both take up space in your deck that you could be using running instant damage and minions. I reached S rank in the previous season without them and now that I wasted my spirit on them I cannot get beyond rank 4
Songhai is there to ruin the fun.
This deck has been more consistent than anything else I have been playing
he diretide frenzied the mech. kinetic equalibrium to kill and ended up summoning another mech.
Also I'm the anon that asked for ideas two threads ago and drew that Vet Sister. Ended up dropping Emerald Rejuv drawing becauseh e looks too generic, and uhhhhhh, still trying to make Bluegoblin look good.
Anyone else got other suggestions?
Dinos got shitstopmed with mana Burn geoing to Vanar, Makantor is still obnoxious as fuck tho. New cancer is Vanar, and new 3rd with is OP on sticky creatures, but Dervish decks ahve no purpose ATM.
Oh boy, did someone say inflata-lips?
Abyss has such shitty targets I blow mine on their jaxi plays.
I mean sure in theory Shadow Watchers and Vorpals and shit need a dispel but no one runs anything but burn abyss past gold. Certainly not gonna gate Magmar out of S-rank because of Abyss.
Someone has to fix vanarhipsters.
I have literally not seen anything but burn abyss in S-rank. What the fuck do you dispel in burn? Shadow Reflection? What do they play Reflection on that survives a turn?
I said dispel Jaxis. Revanent is not played in all Burn decks. Their effect is very relevant but not dispel or lose. Often times the damage has already been done by the time you can react to them anyways.
Just third wish them
I didn't say they weren't shit. I said that Abyss isn't a must-silence faction. I said that their inability to dispel vs Abyss isn't going to be what keeps them out of S-rank.
Against Vet it sure as fuck will. Nerfed Plasma Storm against Vanar sure as fuck will. But against Abyss Earth Sphere keeps them in the game better than Vet.
Oh hey, you're the guy who gave me some advice about vet a few days ago. Meanwhile I dusted cards from factions I don't want to play and crafted some vet stuff.
I'm out of dust for now but I'm always glad to get comments on how to improve. It's a bit frustrating that I'm oscillating around rank 11 and I just can't manage to get a long enough win streak to get into 10.
Here's the older deck list for comparison.
People told you last time that Mirage Master is really bad. Way too slow with not enough targets in the meta floating around. Realistically the best you can hope for is a TW'd Saberspine but that's the dream situation right there.
Staff of Y'Kir is also pretty questionable. Doesn't do enough to justify its slot.
Pryomancer is very risky but can be a rewarding card to play. Up to you to gauge if it's worth it or not. Most Vets don't like to take that big a risk on their tempo that early in the game so she doesn't see too much play but there's really nothing "bad" about it.
Starfire Scarab and Dancing Blades are both good pauper cards for now. Just be ready to phase them out when you can. I'd say, if you can, add Dancing Blades over Scarab. Having an immediate effect on the board is a big deal, especially at 5 mana. Not a big deal but it's just what I'd do. Scarab can be very powerful tempo as well and with Maelstrom you don't have to worry about it not being able to get into position but in the mid-game the unreactable 3-damage wins games.
Otherwise I'd say you're pretty solid. Another Third Wish. Another Aymara (though some people prefer 2 so up to you). Rasha's is pretty important so look out for those.
Feel free to add me if you want to ask about minor stuff. You wouldn't be the first.
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm starting to see why you're against Mirage Master. More often I have nothing worthwile to copy, since cards with powerful opening gambits don't profit from it. For now the staff and the mirage master are more of "I don't have anything to put in in their stead" cards. I need to find cards that at least have some presence o nthe board. Hell, I might just put in two golems for them instead.
Long term plan is to craft a third wish and two rasha's curse.
Removed both of them and the scarab. It's kinda slow and the instant 3 damage worked better, as you've pointed out.
I've put in a single rust crawler, a dancing blade and a golem. Rust crawler as a poor man's excuse for rasha's curse. Because fuck songhai for stacking their annoying artifacts.
How is the f2p experience in this?
Is it feasible to amass enough currency to build a solid meta deck?
I'm assuming it's going to take awhile before I get the hang of the game though so if it takes 2 weeks of steady playing that's fine
None of these are accurate. Only Magmar is half lizardfags
god you just reminded me of an old autist I used to play with who was fucking obsessed with lizards, and Songhai is more like the pic you used for Vet.
Vet and Vanar don't really have any stereotypes, and Abysshits and stall-DB Lyonar are like pic related
New player here, so far the game has thrown gold and cards at me two days straight. I built some cheap abyssian deck (which apparently is one of the weakest factions atm) with only commons and rares after leveling up the basic decks to lvl 11 (for the free pack each) and I just now reached rank 10 from rank 30 which is gold division if I'm not mistaken (still climbing rather fast).
Legendaries apparently have a 1 in 4 chance of appearing in a pack (Hearthstone for comparison is 1 in 20). I've got plenty of epics too.
So far this game is making me think I got ripped off hard wasting my time playing Hearthstone.
Looking at the current wo top tier decks, they're much more expensive than my current deck obviously, I can't tell you how long it'll take you for one. Probably much faster than in Hearthstone though, that's for sure.
My point though is that you don't need one to rank up, and by the time you hit a wall in ranked you should have the means of crafting a better deck.
>So far this game is making me think I got ripped off hard wasting my time playing Hearthstone
Pretty much this. Blizzard gets away with so much shit because Hearthstone is the biggest online card game.
Vanar/Vet shitter spotted.
This was before magmar was kill and third wish was changed, back then vetshitters where very smug fedora-style shitposters and vanars where basically played by 99.999% hipsters.
Magmars are 100% gay lizards ,anyone saying they're not is in the closet.
Don't believe the memers. Abyssian is fine right now. Can close the game very fast without a whole lot you can do.
The main issue for them is there's only one viable build and the build in question isn't what attracts most people to the faction in the first place. Every Abyssian fan I've talked to for now basically wants it to be either a token spam deck or something akin to black control. Instead you get bR aggro.
But then Vet's got a similar problem going on right now. I can't imagine anyone wanted to play the faction for their buffs alone. Now it's a pure aura deck. If they didn't have Time Maelstrom and the best aesthetic
and soon the best generalthen I'd have jumped ship by now.
>I-it's f-for the e-earth magic!!
>I-it's b-be-because they're tier 1!
not this is why you play Magmar:
"Bowser is my husbando" and "I want to have 2 lizard dicks pump eggs into me"
My cheap abyssian deck is an aggro one, because I quickly realized token spam and the area denial thing are just useless compared to the bullshit the other classes can pull out of their ass in a few turns. The only way to win is to beat them before they draw the bullshit.
Not what I expected when I chose the faction that attracted me most, you're right.
>oh no my shitty ignorance of board position means I get cucked by magmar
>better make a joke about how I can't fuck them from behind myself
>m-magmars are gay, not me!
>be edgey 12yo faggot
>come to /dyg/
>h-hey g-guys magmar is gay right? just because I like fucking people from behind d-doesn't make me gay!
>songoloid projecting this hard
Well the game is early in it's lifecycle. People expect too much. Yu-gi-oh has been around for 20 fucking years, magic twice that.
You will start seeing different decks withing a faction once we get enough cards, pure and simple.
Let's say it like this: a large card pool is a requirement for deck diversity, buit it doesn't guarantee deck diversity, you also need to balance them well, and have plenty of situational cards to build decks around
>turn 3 Keeper of the Vale into Chaos Elemental
>turn 4 Keeper of the Vale into Chaos Elemental
>turn 5 Keeper of the Vale into Jaxi
I'm fucking dying
I fucking wish.
We need more johnny cards
I think I've not yer reached level 11, using this opportunity to get the orb.
I'll just put 2 dispels, 2 jaxi and some heal as neutrals and hope to ge it done fast.
On a side note, how much do I have to play into a game for it to make me progress the quest?
>/hsg/ fag, played since naxx
>decide to check out the duelyst general to see what this shit is all about
>read this and associated posts
Welp, into the trash it goes I guess, glad I didn't waste my time and can stick with my popular f2p ccg that I already have all of the important cards in.
Good, and stay gone is shitposing on /vg/ of all places is going to convince you not to play.
Not to mention I don't think there's a person hwere who said this game isn't better than Goystone anyway
the (you) is free.
It's been a whole week with orbs like these. In fact this is a good one, it's got 3 blues unike my typical 4 white cards. Adding stuff like keeper, jaxi and aggro after aggro every game I'm getting burned of this game.
OK lad, here's the deal. I am a HUUUUUGE WC 3 fan. Still play it today.
I am ALSO a TCG fan. I bought into Blizz bullshit and started playing Heartstone.
two months later, god knows how many packs, and I got no Legendary cards.
Not to mention Warr was getting skullfucked anytime a good strategy for him appeared.
Here in a week I've gotten 6 legendaries, including 3rd Wish and a Hexblade (And Rook, Mirkbllod Devourer, Black Locust), not to mention some good epics like Blastfire Ankh and stuff like Memefox etc (Disenchanted everything not Abby or Vet). Just keep at it. The rates are just as much of bullshit as HS, but the gold comes easier, and you even get free cards every month based off rank (not to mention that it's easy to get into Gold).
There's going to be good packs and bad packs, but trust me, you are not likely to just be getting shit here (not ot mention Hailstone, 4 Winds, Razorback and Arclyte are actually all good cards), unlike in some other games.
Anyone with a rush minion > Anyone without
No matter which faction you give this to, it's OP
