Yeah, no. Definitely not possible here, at least not with the current range of cards. The opponent will just drop a bunch of heavier stuff and eventually outlast your heals/controls, or just OTK with meme fox regardless of your health.

The best way I can think of buffing your general to outlast is via Grandmaster Z'ir, but you can't infinitely buff. If Divine Bond gets reworked to fuse two minions, you could try fusing it with an Owlbeast, but I'm just going off in a shitty hypothetical here that would barely work out even if the cards existed to make it possible..

To elaborate: in most card games you instantly lose the game if you attempt to draw from an empty deck (there's some amount of variation to this rule including simply running out of cards in your deck makes you lose, or losing on the draw step when you have no cards in deck). You lose. Game ends. There's no playing on with what you've got in hand or just taking damage whenever you try drawing with no cards in deck.

Mil decks are decks are those which aim to win via forcing you to lose on this rule. "Decking them out." Some do this by forcing the opposing player to draw. However, the actual act of "milling" refers to what the original Milstone did: discard the top card of your opponent's deck. For YGOfriends, think Empty Jar. Or Lightsworn for self-mil.

The only possible example of this in Duelyst would be Magmar's Mind Steal and Abyssian's Reaper of the Nine Moons. Neither of which I'm certain actually remove the cards from your deck. Even if they did it's arguable whether this counts as milling or not.

Other than the originator which spawned the term which focused on grinding out the opponent slowly but surely (much like HS "mil"/fatigue decks) mil decks are traditionally combo decks. I believe Magic's standard format had some form of draw loop in their meta recently but for a good example look at the Grindstone + Painter's Servant combo.

I used this to get to S this season. Though I ended up needing to swap out a Chaos Elemental for another Crossbones because I kept running into mechs.

You can probably swap out the Sarlacs and Maelstroms for other shit if you don't have them. Howler works fine for Sarlac. Saberspines are good too

The closest thing to milling in this game is the damage you take with an empty deck - akin to a Recycle Leppa causing a Struggle ending.

That said, that's the only type of "milling" that can occur in this game.

I also thought of Lightchaser + Sunmaiden, and Hailstone + Alcuin, but the former is easily dispelled and the latter doesn't produce anything.

Storm Kage is actually a better example of that, though, but it as you said, it's ineffective at damaging the general, as well as any burst/rush damage.

What they were talking about were mill decks, but those will never be possible unless they involve outlasting forever.

For that to become possible, they either need a looping general-based heal, or a card that adds cards to their DECK and a way to replicate that card's effect.

If they reworked Keeper so it put all dead minions back in your deck, then outlasting your opponent's deck would be possible.

No, see, you're still misunderstanding. Storm Kage is in no way mil. Infinite loops aren't mil in any way. Kage doesn't do anything for mil other than fill your hand so you can't draw I guess. In that sense I guess it's good in TOD/Fatigue decks but it doesn't do any direct milling or even forcing draws.

A mil deck is going to be looking to actively thin your opponent's deck. Either by forcing them to draw or by discarding their deck. Normally the latter as you don't really want to afford your opponent extra hand advantage in most situations but in Duelyst they'd just be discarded instantly anyways.

Hailstone isn't mil as much as it is a strong punish to full hands.

Regalia is really good, but not as powerful and holy. Stacking them sucks imo because it only blocks damage from the first hit it recieves, so you are losing stacks anyways most of the time after blocking that jaxi hit. It's also very high price, so yeah. Good, but not amazing. Can shut down rush factions that mostly focus on damaging you like songhai and face abyss, but lyonar is already good at that without regalia.

You should change faction. Too many songhai and lyonar in ladder and they faceroll abyssian. Also your deck quality is subpar to even have a reliable 50% winrate - manaforgers and novas are slow to utilize, silhouette tracer is just an odd piece, saberspines are subpar to sustain bigger dps than your opponents, only 2 spectral baldes, no sorcs to duplicate core spells. Your decks need a lot of work. Either gather more spirit to craft the missing cards (and revenants) or enjoy grinding for 2 weeks

I don't think it needs a buff, but I do agree that even if it did receive one it would still be weaker than Songhai (18 damage in comparison to 26. If you used Lady Locke, you would still get 18 damage).

Not really. Basically in the game Legendaries are easy to get. You will find that most other factions also have mandatory bullshit cards of Epic of Legendary quality (Songhai with their fucking boars for instance, or Magmar and Metamorphosis). It just breaks on Vet to have more crucial ones.

I'd consider it but I'm not sure what I'm looking out of Vet is the same as everyone else. I got into them because they seemed like a spell-slinging blue control deck with a great aesthetic. I definitely don't like that they're basically a white aura deck at this point. Cosmic Flesh got bumped up into useful territory and Third Wish is just plain crucial to Vet's gameplan. On top of First Wish being a useful cantrip it's just a buff faction now which is disappointing.

Who knows maybe I'm not alone. I saw Amaz picked up Vet. He saw Dominate Will and went for it, I'd imagine. I saw Time Maelstrom and knew it was the faction for me. I just want some blue control.

Either way if anyone wants results the forums are where you gotta go to.

I've always understood it as 'the enemy has to react to you, instead of you reacting to him. So, let's play you play a 5-mana minion, the enemy removes it with a 2-mana hailstone and plays a fenrir, then that hailstone gained hima lot of tempo. Tempo decks would then be those that aim to gain control of the board and pressurize the enemy as cheaply as possible.

Remember to play around grasp of agony if you're using cosmic flesh on a sand howler.
