Either way, the TLDR is yes, ret isn't viable for level 60 pve. The thing from the forums above sounds neat but they also disbanded when the rets in the raid couldn't handle dispelling on lucifron.
Ret is technically "doable" but you need mostly bis gear and a guild willing to get you that gear and willing to piss off everyone else. It's also possible to get in as the nightfall dude .

Ret is great dps while leveling, falls off around 50ish, but you'll find most people don't realize it and won't let you dps. Prot is also just fine for tanking 5mans.
For pvp, of course, ret is great.

I've tried playing on this server on 3 different characters now.. I reach around lvl 16-20ish and give up everytime.

Thinking on playing casually, i already have a lvl 30 dwarf warrior but i want to try out hunter.
Im gonna roll alliance.

My main concern is PvP and rogues in general, care you give me some insigth from experienced players? i want to play vanilla and this seems to be the best server, i don't want to play some stressfull minigames in wotlk again.
Just plain and simple rpgs even if i have to spam the same one button macro in pve or have to befriends a bunch of autistic tryhards.

If you haven't done alterac valley quests you should do them. There's a load of easy to do quests that give like 10k xp each.
Save BRD until later, it's a long dungeon, not the easiest one either. Unless you got 60's

Do the prequests for ST. All of them, even for the bottom part.
Do ST
Finish Un goro if you haven't. Finish Felwood if you haven't. Do the 1st part of BRD, Fanny packs, talk to the dorf for Songstone quest. Talk to Marshal Windsor. Get the Shadowforge key, kill the fire elemental boss at the anvil for the quest.

Do the first Cauldron and kill quests in WPL. Be sure to finish all of the AVs except explosives expert. It's still bugged and gives negative rep.

Start doing the Fordring prequests and finish up the Cauldron quests.

At this point, see where your BiS drops and if its in BRD farm it. If not, quest in WPL EPL Wintersprings. Silithus is cancer. If you're a healer, at level a lot of 5 mans open up for you. DM W and E, Scholo, Strat UD. Finish up preraid bis gear quests, attunes and end game 5 man quests for the last stretch of xp. Grind or go to the hellhole that is Silithus.

Actually, I think I know what happened, I looked up my pre-raid BiS list and it turned out that 90% of it is crafted or PvP rewards, which made the prospect of grinding out 20 dungeons to get one drop that I already outleveled not very appealing.

I am unsure why people think that chinks haven't taken over.

Last census showed that top 10 alliance guild by xp [meaning the sheer amount of xp point in the guild increased by number of people as well as increase in their number] and see that 9/10 are chinese. One that isn't chinese is Temporalis, a russian guild. Horde is 6/10 chinese, but those are the only ones I am 100% sure are chinks. The number could be higher.

Taking into account that chinks have guild names with fucking numbers in them that just grow in ascending order, it's safe to believe their guilds are always full to the brim, so full 321 members. On my horde I ganked so many <Brothers gather>. Today there were 7 of them in an Ony pug when I was on my ally.

Chinese have a higher influx of new players.
Chinese are playing on level 60.
Their community is growing and is isolationist. They have adds for trade, enchant and what not in moonrunes. They don't need us, yet they are suffocating us with the undercutting [just check out the AH for some easy farmable items and you will see all the xias undercutting with a large number of auctions.

What's the solution?
No idea.
I don't want Kronos cause its 800 peak time.
I don't want PvE cause its PvE.
